“You know this is ridiculously stupid, right? I just realized how much we don’t make sense, at all.” He turned his head to look at the other, spoon pausing in mid-air on its way to get another scoop of ice cream from the small tub they were sharing. “Then again, I think I’m too comfortable to move or really do anything about it.. Guess we’ll deal with it.”
Humid weather making being outside unbearable again: check.
Crisp AC turned way up to make it cooler and less stuffy: check.
Cold food to further combat the humidity: sure, check.
Blanket from now being too cold thanks to the AC and ice cream: .. check?
But as Lincoln said, he wasn’t about to move to turn off the air conditioning, nor was he about to stop eating ( for the simple fact that he didn’t want to, and he was stuck in that ‘mindless eating’ mode even though he wasn’t hungry at all ). “Anyway, it doesn’t matter. I heard that it’s ideal for humans to be in a cold environment, or whatever, because being covered up to fight it is relaxing.” That wasn’t exactly it, but he hoped that Yongsun heard about it too.
“So as I was saying– yeah. The episodes are pretty easy to find, but I’m still really annoyed that half of the acts on America’s Got Talent are singers. I mean.. Isn’t there already a bunch of singing shows out there, already?” He shook his head, and then got another scoop of ice cream from his side of the container, despite just pointing out silly the whole situation was.
Also, despite over-doing the fight against the outside humidity, he tried to subtly tug on the blanket in order to get more of it around himself, without Yongsun noticing.
“Soooo.. I say we can watch one more episode, but I wanna skip through any singers.”
Yongsun already had another spoonful of ice cream in her mouth when Lincoln spoke. She hadn’t really thought about how ridiculous this was until he’d just mentioned it. The girl let the ice cream melt in her mouth then swallowed it before replying, “It doesn’t have to make sense, Lincoln. That’s the beauty of it!” Or just the ridiculousness of it, but whatever. They were comfortable and happy, so it was okay, right? It was disgustingly hot outside, chilly inside, but perfect under the blanket that they were sharing. It all worked out in the end, anyway.
“Honestly, I think this is the most relaxed I’ve been in weeks.” This was a stress-free zone. At least as far as Yongsun was concerned. She had a full week off and she was determined to live it up while she could! Which, of course, meant taking as much time as she could to hang out with friends and family while also spending most of her time indoors. She traveled more than enough as it was. The last thing she wanted to do with her time off was leave the comfort of home- whether that home was hers or someone else’s didn’t matter so much.
“You make a very good point. We would watch The Voice or old episodes of American Idol if we wanted to see singers. Yes, singing is a talent, but America has to have more talent than just a bunch of people who can sing fairly well, right?” She, personally, was often more entertained by the outlandish acts. The ones with people doing absolutely ridiculous things. If someone could make her laugh, that was enough for her- though Yongsun had a tendency to find even the worst attempts at humor fairly funny. That was probably why she would never end up as a judge on a show like this. She was amused too easily. Honestly, she was impressed too easily in general. A side effect of her typically sunny demeanor.
Yongsun pointed her spoon at the screen, prepared to make a proposal, “Why don’t we watch two more episodes and skip all the singers. That way it’s kind of like watching one full episode without any singers at all. Assuming that they’re going to make up about half of the acts in each episode, of course.”
