Semantics with Fanatics 1-7 Apr
G'Fon and I shared a look. It was a look that said 'this was going to be trouble, but what choice did we have'. "Thank you," I told them. "Let's focus on the first place and leave that second bit until afterwards."
The green men all laughed. "You're funny, brother. As if any of us could make a single action that was not in the name of the reunification of the Single Egg. To do so would be in service of the Many Eggs and to allow many eggs to form would be disastrous. It would bring about the division of our people and of all existence. "We must remain together and we will. We will be together until the Single Egg is reunited, brother. So if we must go find your friend, your friend we shall go find. Together."
I looked at G'Fon. I could see that sounded as ominous to him as it had to me. "Well, we'd gladly appreciate you helping us finding our other friend, but after that we have some work to do that's not really around here, so we may not be able to help you with that other thing," I said carefully as I didn't want to agitate them. We were a little outnumbered.
"Brother?" the green men asked. "Do you not want to protect the Single Egg? Do you not care for your people and our world?"
"I care," I told them. "I care about everyone, but there are people in danger and I must help them. There are tyrants and I must stop them."
"Yes. The universe is cracked. Until it is reunited, it will be broken. We must repair the Egg to save the people."
"Or maybe by saving the people we can repair the egg," I tried. The green men were stunned by this. They needed a minute to digest it.
"Your friends can repair the Egg? They can reunite the Single Egg and bring about the rebirth of the universe? Are your friends the prophesied ones?"
"Prophesy?" I echoed. "I didn't say anything about prophesy."
"You said they could repair the egg."
Oops, I thought.
