Summer is fast approaching and that means it’s time for another GaaLee Fest! For this summer’s GaaLee Fest, I’ve decided to do something a little differently from last year’s! Instead of sign-ups and prompts being first-come first-serve, this festival will be structured more like a ship week where people simply post their piece on the prompt’s specific day. You can do as many prompts as you want, and no prompt is limited to first-come first-serve! The GaaLee fandom is still growing, so this is just another fun way to encourage content creation so it’s a low stress event. From now until the posting dates, people who wish to participate have plenty of time to create their content, be that fanfiction or fanart!
For this event, the very first prompt is keeping with the theme from the first GaaLee Week of this year: the infamous GaaLee fight! The dates for this event were chosen, once again, for the airing/publishing dates of the fight in English and Japanese! However, the rest of the event focuses on AUs and tropes with the final wrap up being dedicated to finishing up old projects and creating new content! It’s a great way to keep yourselves inspired!
As usual, you should follow @puregaalee and #gaaleefest18 for any updates, and to see all the wonderful content once posting begins! There is plenty of time to get started on your ideas, and if you have any questions please send me a message or ask!!! If you would like to have a group of people to help motivate you, bounce ideas off of, etc, message @sagemoderocklee, @ghoste-catte, @thehilliwilldieon, or @salmonnfishie for acces to the Official PureGaaLee Discord! Sadly, this year’s GaaLee Week had a rather low turnout, but I’m holding out hope that this GaaLee Fest will have the best participation turnout yet! So, do your best, everyone, and have fun!
Below the cut are the prompts and rules!
Prompts

Day2: Hogwarts AU
Day 3: Coffee Shop/Bakery AU
Day 4: Flower Shop AU

Day 13: Love Redeems
Day 14: Pick your own!
Final Wrap Up: WIPs (September 2nd & 3rd)
Day 15: Complete a long overdue WIP!
Day 16: Start a long overdue project!
Late posting begins September 4th!
As with ship weeks, each day of the week has a specific theme and should be used to create content, be that art of fic. Post as many variations on your AUs and tropes as you want! If you want to do multiple pieces, that’s awesome!
For the final warp up on September 2nd and 3rd, the prompts are much broader. These final two days are actually designed to inspire and encourage you to finish old projects and start new ones, so it’s not prompt specific. If you have a WIP that’s been sitting for months or even years, pull it out and get to work! You can use Day 15 as your deadline to complete your piece by, but if you can’t finish it by then, at least you’ve stared working on it! And if you want to post a preview so that you’re posting something, go for it! Day 16 is similar, except this is to inspire you to start something you’ve been thinking about forever. That idea that’s been just an idea... well it’s time to make it a reality! Again, you can use Day 16 as your deadline, or just post a preview of what you’re working on!
Rules
1. Be respectful of everyone. There will be no bashing of art, fics, or fellow participants. If you don’t like something someone has created that is non-offensive (homophobic, transphobic, racist, etc), then simply ignore the content. Disagreeing with headcanons or portrayals of characters, not liking someone’s art or writing style is no excuse to be mean. If this rule is broken, then you will be blocked and banned from future fests.
2. No underage content. If you draw or write a story about Gaara and Lee featuring them as children or teens, then you cannot make it sexual in nature. These characters are adults now, so if you want to include mature content, the characters must also be adults. Any background pairings may not contain adult/minor relationships.
3. No transmisogyny/transphobia, racism, homophobia, misogyny, ableism, etc. If you are unclear on this, feel free to message me.
4. No rape, sexual assault, etc content will be accepted. Non-con, dub-con, and whatever terms fandom uses to downplay these things are not accepted in this event. If you have a piece that features a character coping with sexual assault, that is entirely different. This rule is specifically in reference to stories or art that depict sexual assault in romantic or glorified fashions.
5. No seme/uke nonsense. Message me if you have any questions about this.
6. Minors are allowed to participate, but may not contribute any NSFW content.
7. Do not post your piece until given the okay. If you finish early, you still need to wait! If you are late to post on the assigned day, please wait until after the initial fest is over on September 4th!
8. Follow the prompt. Prompts are guides, but they still allow for creativity. If you feel bogged down, please message me.
9. No plagiarism.
If you have any questions, please feel free to message me! My askbox is always open!
Prompt numer 14 (General): Marriage of convenience trope. (Last prompt)
I imagine here that Gaara isn’t sure at all, that everyone fears him, but he’ll do what he can for his village. He’s surprise to meet Lee (all this in my head is an AU where they don’t know each other) and see that Lee isn’t there only to obey and do as his village on their own asked him to, but he’s determinated to create a real marriage with Gaara, make it work, not just a façade, and make both of them happy.
