Howl’s moving Castle but with a young man who spent his whole life being told he was ugly meeting a wizard and falling in love.

GaaLee Week 2018 7th March-14th March

Ready, set, fight! 

Time to kick off the first GaaLee week of 2018! And what better way than by celebrating the infamous fight that catapulted these two into our hearts! To take part, just create something (art or fanfiction) based on anyone of the prompts and post on the appropriate day! The only rules: Minors may not contribute NSFW content and all NSFW content MUST not depict Lee and Gaara when they were minors, and it goes without saying, but all content must not be homophobic, transphobic, etc. Please do NOT create content that, in anyway, objectifies or fetishizes the characters (Gaara in a dress is not allowed!!!) or that implies in any way that there is a lack of consent. Let’s celebrate this pairing with as much genuine, pure love and respect as we can muster!

Prompts

Day 1: 

Gaara vs Rock Lee (episode 48-episode 50)

Use the infamous fight scene as your inspiration for fic or art! How you interpret this is up to you! Use quotes or images from the fight; use the entire fight; whatever you want! The fight simply must be a part of the creation in some way! 

Day 2:

 Headcanons

 A huge part of fandom has become sharing headcanons, and I want to celebrate all the headcanons we’ve come up with by having you create something inspired by someone else’s headcanon!

Permission must be obtained from the original creator of said headcanon.

(headcanons include “imagine gaara and lee...” and “person A/person B” posts, and must be specific to GaaLee)

Day 3:

Music

While not popular these days, fanmixes used to be an integral part of fandom. Though they may be few and far between now, that doesn’t mean there isn’t music that speaks to us of our OTPs! Pick any song (or songs!) as inspiration! 

Day 4:

Fan art

Art has become almost the main medium by which we share and enjoy fandom things. So let’s celebrate those artists who put time and love into creating things for free by creating something inspired by their works! Pick a GaaLee fan art and have fun! 

Permission must be granted by the artist.

Day 5:

Poetry

Who doesn’t love a good poem? Poetry can inspire us to feel so much, so let’s use that to create something unique! Pick any poem you want to use as inspiration! 

Day 6:

Fanfiction

Though fanfiction no longer seems to gain the same traction as it once did, the stories writers create are a powerfully important part of fandom and deserve love! Pick a GaaLee fic and have fun!

Permission must be granted by the writer.

Day 7:

Film/Television/Books/Comics

Fandom wouldn’t be anything without the original content! Take a film, a show, a book, or comic, and use it as inspiration! 

For the even numbered prompts, permission MUST be granted by the original creator of the content and the content MUST pertain to GaaLee and you MUST credit/link to the original creator. Part of this GaaLee Week is celebrating our fellow fans by sharing their works and creating things inspired by their works, so if you don’t link to them you’re doing them and the fandom a disservice. Also, I strongly encourage you to pick art, fics, and headcanons that are NOT super popular! If a fic has more then 100 comments, well for this fandom, that’s popular! If a piece of art has 1,000 reblogs--you guessed it, that’s pretty darn popular! If a headcanon has more than 500 reblogs: popular! Try to celebrate the lesser appreciated content creators! While you can totally choose whatever works you want as inspiration, giving appreciation to the lesser appreciated goes a long way! (You can obviously create as many contributions as you want, so if you want to create something inspired by someone with few notes and someone with a lot of notes, go for it!)

If you want to use a piece of art as your muse, write a fic to go with it or maybe create a continuation of the art! Don’t copy the art if you’re an artist! If you use a fic or headcanon as your muse, again, don’t replicate it! Fanfic remixes are welcome--but only if the original writer says so! What is a fanfic remix? It’s essentially a retelling of a fic from a different perspective! Is there a fic you love from Gaara’s perspective, but you want to explore Lee’s PoV? Go for it, but ASK THE AUTHOR FIRST! 

(For any content creators who DO want their works considered, I can make a post to show who to check out! If there is anyone who does NOT want to be considered, again, the same will be done!)

Finally, the odd numbered prompts can be interpreted however you want! If you want to use the fight as a memory or something they talk about--go for it! Do you love Bruce Lee films and want to write a fic inspired by one of his? Have at it! Do you love Queen and feel like some of their songs remind you of GaaLee? Awesome! Think that some dead dude wrote some sweet rhymes about love? Use it as your muse!!!

Day 2 Prompt: Headcanon of @puregaalee ’s fest. I was a bit out of ideas and I wasn't sure about using other's headcanons, so... I think that one that many of us has it involves Gaara being able to sleep again and ,thanks to Lee, do it peacefully. We all know Lee is an angel. 💗 I also like to think that Gaara, with time, can even fall asleep/doze off a bit in Lee's arms and with no bed involved. For me is something important that Gaara is finally able to sleep. Remember that he was forced to be an insomniac in order to prevent Shukaku to take control over him. Preventing someone of sleep is a form of torture... :(
