Sassa should’ve realized Gabe would’ve also signed up for setting up for the career fair - she had because not only did it count for community service, which she needed hours of for her sorority, but because hello? Early entry into opportunities to impress a whole host of serious networking opportunities. And Gabe had always been...well, not as ambitious as her, considering that was a level she didn’t think anyone quite reached, but extremely ambitious. He had always been focused on his work and career - too focused, at points, in Sassa’s opinion. After all, she had been seriously left hanging for his attention at times. He probably would’ve made time to do this regardless of what conflicts would’ve arisen.
She offered him a small smile when he approached in her direction, a box of things - surely pamphlets, or business cards, or utterly useless pens with logos (they never even wrote nicely). “Hey,” Sassa greeted, scanning up and down his frame for a moment. “Should’ve expected you to be here,” she said. “Always the type of thing you’d make time for,” she continued, the words coming out slightly sing-song. And not at all passive aggressive.
