Cutie Reviews: Gacha Gacha crate May 19

Welcome to the review :3 today we’ll be looking at the May Gacha Gacha Crate; which stars everyone’s favorite pink puffball~

Well sorta, it’s only one item but still. Click the pic if you want to read the text more clearly, otherwise let’s get this review started!

Our first item is this.... Unicorn worm?!

Unicorn Bracelet

Actually it isn’t; it’s a bracelet! From Toys Spirit, there are 7 available Unicorn bracelets to collect. There’s only 5 shown in the book though, so I assume there might be 2 special ones?

They come in white pink (the one I got), green purple, pink red, purple blue, and white purple.

Now I think these might have been based on an American toy series (that I suddenly forgot the name of I’m sorry); I say that because I have proof. About a year or two ago these came out: 

I think the one I bought, the other unicorn was 5 or 6 dollars (I also have a kitty like it, and they still make these now in a variety of finishes, animals, and series). They are almost exactly the same in terms of detail, shape, gimmick.

Basically, to make these work you take the larger bead beneath the neck and tail, hold them by the holes on the body and twist to form them into arms and legs. Then when you want to wear it you pull them loose and connect the tail tip to the head hole.

Now, I really like the concept, I love cutesy jewelry an accessories. As a stand alone toy/item I would have really loved this little cutie x3 I still do really like it, but I couldn’t stop myself from comparing it to my other one and like it even more than I already do. But they pretty much work exactly the same, and they’re both very cute so I’d recommend either.

Dragon Ball Super Figures

Our next item is this... arguably less-cute chibified Dragon Ball gacha from Bandai. They’re simplified little figures with moving head and arms, and they each include a little stand they can be attached to. I don’t know the form names anymore outside of the originals, but I do know this is Goku...?

I don’t hate dragon ball or anything, but as I’ve said before I don’t keep up with the series and lost interest in it. The figure itself is nice though, and I love all of the detail on the head. But I feel like with all that detail they neglected the body, you can kind of see a difference in mediums between them and it bugs me.

I also dislike how they hands look like they could hold something- but you don’t get anything for them to hold. I know it’s just meant to be like... a generic figure or something, but to me it left a lot to be desired. I won’t be keeping this one knowing someone else would really appreciate it.

Pochacco Figure

Our next item is this super-cute figure set of Pochacco, a slightly obscure Sanrio character depending on where you live. Like where I live I rarely ever saw him in/on anything; but lately I’ve been seeing him show up a lot more.

This series is by Takara Tomy Arts and there are 5 available in this collection, each featuring Pochacco in a variety of poses. 

Of course I got the really plain/basic pose, and he’s even wearing yellow for an added bonus <,<

I’ve already said this before, but I prefer practical Gacha that give you something to do over plain figurines. But I’ve always had a soft spot for Pochacco and even if this one is a bit on the plain side, it’s still pretty cute. And thinking about this, I could still do something with it; re-ment, put it on things and take pictures...

Shiba Plush

Our next item is this kawaii little Shiba plush. I was kind of surprised to see this, given that Shiba were featured in the prior booklet and box. This would have been perfect for it.

This line is by Koro Koro Collection, and there are 5 available. I can’t understand their names though, so I don’t know who/what species of shiba mine is.

There isn’t all that much to it but I do like the detail on this small plush. It’s body has small beans in it, and it fits right into your palm x3 I like how it kind of works as an alternate Squishy. It’s also really cute~

Kirby Squishy

Next is another gacha from Takara Tomy Arts, a kawaii itty-bitty Kirby squishy~

4 are available, including basic kirby, kirby with a rice ball, waddle dee, and meta knight. I love Kirby so much I’d have been happy with any of them, although I do think besides this one, I’d have loved to have meta knight.

Since I actually own a few Kirby Squishy I thought I’d get them out to sort of compare with it.

Like them it’s just a simple foam squishy. But the two I already own are ulra-soft, semi-slow rise, and they have a fruity scent. This one is soft, but due to its smaller size there isn’t enough foam for it to really rise back, it bounces back to normal in a second, if that. It also has a light roasted soy bean scent.

So, if you prefer slow rise squishies and things you can really sink your hands into, this isn’t for you. But if you like a quicker rise squishy and something smaller sized for easier transportation I’d say it’s perfect. But it’s very small so I feel like if you’re not careful it would be pretty easy to lose.

Whack-A-Mole Game

Our final item is this really cute little portable electronic game based on Whack-A-Mole, you know, the game where you hit the moles or similar animals with a squeaky toy or your hands?

There are 4 available, each with a different base that is themed after one of the seasons. I really wish I got the spring or winter ones, but I was born in Fall/Autumn, so this is kind of appropriate :p

Basically, all you do is pull the tab out then turn it on. The bar along the bottom works as a sort of time/game phase measurement, and the game goes through multiple phases until you get to the point where you miss one, then you’re automatically out/the game ends.

I love games, and when I was little I used to have a bunch of little things like this, and my old dentist had some that I was allowed to play while waiting. It’s very fun and a great way to kill a few minutes or work out some stress or if you’re fidgety.

The only thing bothering me is that the game doesn’t really tell you the score you get (as far as I know, there weren’t instructions), and it is very loud. There isn’t really a way to control the volume unless you leave the game flat on a surface, or turn the ON button half-way, which lets you play the game in silence.

Total Rank: 8 out of 10 cuties, one of my favorite boxes so far. Everything had nice detailing, I didn’t notice any defects or real issues, I also feel like the practicality was about the same as the prior box. But this time they didn’t include a price, so... I feel like in terms of what we pay, only one or two of them didn’t really seem to suit it. The rest sure.

if I had to change anything I’d say swap the Dragon Ball capsule for something more cute to match the rest of the box. I also wish that the boxes had a stronger theme. Like, this one had a Kirby booklet insert, so why not include more Kirby capsules? I know it’s possible for them to do a themed box, even if they just did like 2 or 3 capsules out of the 6 so that if the person didn’t like the theme the entire box wasn’t a waste for them.

Gacha Gacha Crate August 21

I was hoping to get back onto the track I was on a while ago, but I received this box earlier this week. I’ll be doing my DokiDoki Crate review afterwards as long as everything goes alright. I’d like to get it done by tomorrow night at the latest, since I will be busy on Monday.

This month, the booklet discusses the technique in which toys have a textured, furry touch. This is called Flocking.

My Hero Academia Pop-Up Phone Handle

Ironic that I finally get one of these things, and it ends up being for a series I’m not a big fan of. I don’t dislike it or anything, I like the concept and the characters are interesting, but my friend is more of a fan of it. Anyway, looking at it still the detailing is nice, the colors are bold and vibrant, and it is kind of cute.

Sumikko Gurashi Terrarium

This item is very cute and fun looking, but it isn’t as easy to make look nice as it does in the booklet or pamphlet picture. I like the texturing of the grass the figures sit on.

Mini Tomica Car & Cheering Pokemon

Okay so... while this isn’t the sort of capsule toy or collectable I’d want, I have to admit it’s a little fun to roll around and push. The wheels glide across various surfaces and it’s very smooth.

Our other item is this adorably cheery Pokemon. More specifically its Pikachu, with pom-pom! These Pokemon figurines we always get would be wonderful for collectors, or someone who wanted to make a display or just play with them. The detailing on the figure is simple, but nice. The only thing is that there is an obvious seam around the neck (it’s more noticeable in person) that the booklet probably blurs because when you look at it, it’s not visible.

Pokemon Light Projector

This fun little gadget would be a must for any Pokemon fan :D or anyone who likes collecting Pokeballs. There was a variety of them, each with its own project-able Pokemon:

What makes this fun is that you can make the Pokemon as big or tiny as you want by moving the Pokeball closer and away from the surface. I’d love a whole set of these~

Hanging Animals

Our last item is the reason for the flocking explanation in the booklet. I like flocked figures, so I kinda wish maybe they gave us a couple others this month. Anyway, this is a keychain series, where the little animal is literately handing from the chain in various ways. It’s so cute x3 mine has a tiny little issue with its flocking on a paw, but it’s not extremely noticeable.

Gacha Gacha Crate July 21

Here I am :D I actually wasn’t planning on writing this up right now, but I needed a distraction. I got papers to do lipid blood work from the doctor, which means I had to fast for it. Fasting, if you’re unfamiliar with the term means no food or drink after so late in the evening. In some cases, things like water, clear liquids, black coffee are allowed, but for this exact thing I’m allowed nothing. 

That’s not too bad because it’s not healthy to eat late anyway, but I didn’t get an opportunity to eat (a lot of stuff came up after a small/early dinner around 4:30pm) prior to midnight. Of course I got hungry before I finally fell asleep around 3:00 am, and when I woke up at 5:30 am I was still hungry.

I have two more hours to go before I can get it done. I have a migraine.

Jar Tote Bags

This is perfect for this time of the year, when you can get out to go shopping or just want to bring some little things with you. It comes in 6 popular condiments in Japan, from seaweed paste (I believe it is anyway), ginger or some other pickled vegetables, kimchee base, something resembling garlic, and this one, which might be chili oil? The size/length is very similar to a tissue box, so it’s a decent size.

I like the taste of chili oil, but it’s so hard to find around here so I don’t get to have it very often. I also think this is really cute, I love food-ish items and accessories.

Vending Machines

Our next item is a cute little sort of interactive prop, a vending machine based on the unique, fun ones you’ll find in Japan. It also includes this piece to put in and remove the small included pieces. The buttons can be pressed, and the little door on the bottom works too.

I believe this one is based on the Nestle brand.

Cable Sitter Birds

A simple but very adorable little friend has come to protect the cables. There was 8 possible variants, each with wonderful painted detail.

Pokemon Swimming Figures

Next up is this cute little figurine series featuring pikachu, the three starters from Sword/Shield, and... the one I got, whose name I always forget. I think it’s really cute but I just can’t remember its name. Also, the Pokemon doesn’t come attached to the floating tube, you have to assemble the piece itself.

Besides a few little messy paint markings, I think the detail on this one is pretty good. It’s really cute for a summer figurine.

Moni Moni Mochi Animals

I’ve really missed seeing squishy in the box as of late x3 I love them so much, especially these cuties! Perfect for summer, we have some aquatic friends to join us.

While they are all adorable and I love my otter, I really really wish I could have gotten the fourth one on the list. It has a name but a lot of things call it a sea butterfly or sea angel. Next to seahorses and sharks, I love these cute little things. Plus look at it, it just looks cool.

Festival Fishing Game

Our last item is one we’ve actually seen before! However, I actually didn’t mind it very much because while i like my pink one from last time, i really wanted one with a little animal or cute shape, so I'm very happy I got a different one this time.

These are fun little gachapon that, as you can see, come with a little piece you attach to the base, which will make it spin around. You fill it with water and use the little wand to pick up the items. Then you place them into the bowl.

I really like how this one included some summery gacha! We don’t usually get themes for this box, but they usually find a way to include the current holiday or season, which I enjoy. We did get a repeat gacha, but it still ended up being a new one for me, so i’m happy about this.

In comparison to the last two I think i liked this one the best. I can’t wait to see what August’s box will have!

In other news, my migraine is gone. I also may be able to get my blood work done sooner then I thought!

Gacha Gacha Crate May 21

I feel like a big idiot, I basically thought I misnamed one of my posts because I’ve done it before. But then it turns out it was actually right, this is the May box. Somehow it got mixed in with the pile of the ones I had to sort and dispose of. I just found it and realized that I had yet to post this one :P

Anyway, this is just going to be a quick picture blog. I’m in a bit of a hurry but I wanted to get this up. Tomorrow I’m going to try posting the June Sakuraco review!

Gacha Gacha Crate June 21

I think I accidentally titled the previous GGC review as April, instead of May. Again <_<

Sorry for not posting as intended, it’s so hard to stay motivated during summer. Especially when it’s so hot, or when you can be out of the house having fun.

Pokemon Charms

First up is this fun little cellphone charm, which could either consist of three basic posed pokemon, or two attacking pokemon x3 I was happy to get this one, since this was my Sword starter, and I was just finishing replaying it at the time I got this capsule.

The detailing on it is really good for such a small figure, as you can tell by the size between it and my fingers. I only found one spot that was a bit messy/missing paint, but I was very impressed overall.

Wind Up Pikachu

Now we have a bigger Pokemon, this time a super-cute Pikachu toy you assemble and wind up to play with. Besides regular Pika, there is also a girl version, one with a hat, and one that’s a ditto transformed into Pikachu.

Kirby Figurines

I couldn’t resist playing around a little bit with this next one, a collection of various power-up Kirby, and a muscled Dedede. I got the artist kirby, but there was also spider kirby, cleaning kirby, and a kirby with a large heart.

The detailing is simple but very cute and bright. I really like it.

Digimon Hugcot Cable Huggers

Besides Pokemon, I grew up with Digimon and its really cheesy dub. At the time I didn’t realize just how silly it was until I got a lot older, and I was obsessed. I had a fair amount of merchandise from it, including figurines, digital pets, video games, stationery, a plush Gatomon I took with me to elementary school. Biyomon was my favorite, until Gatomon showed up, but I still liked her second so I’m okay with getting this one.

It’s another really small figurine, but again the painted details are great.

Pikman Charms

As an avid video game enthusiast, I’m perfectly fine with this boxes contents this month. Next up is an adorable charm-chain of pikman! It’s hard to see, but each Pikman has a different shaped topper, one is the budding leaf, then the bulb, and lastly the flower. These are so cute, I’d love to use this one on something.

Now, I’ve only played the first two games, so I’m not super-familiar with this one... You could get it, the original red, blue, and yellow (I love the yellow ones ears x3), or the small pink pixie-looking one, which is also really cute. I was also a big fan of the albino ones from the second game.

Attack on Titan Rubber Keychain

Our last item is this cute rubber stamp-style keychain. There was 8 characters available, and while I know more about the earlier stuff of the series, I haven’t kept up with it at all. I was more into the School AU spin-off they did a while back, the actual series is a bit too much for me.

These types of keychains are hard to execute poorly. By that I mean they always look really nice, and adorable!

I had some mixed feelings with this box, I hate to always complain so much but I should be honest right?

The items were all very cute and colorful, which I liked. I love video games and anime/manga, so I like that too. But this one felt kind of... boring. Everything was either a figure or charm, the only real difference one was the wind up Pikachu, and even then it’s still a figure. I mean to be honest most gachapon are, which is fine, but seeing how creative and unique they can be makes me want to see those ones, you know?

Gacha Gacha Crate April 21

Sanrio and Rilakkuma Capchara

We got not 1, but 2 Capchara figures this month!

“Capchara“ (capsule characters I assume) are figurines that make up the capsule they come in, usually its the head. You open them up and use the inside pieces to assemble. They’re not usually difficult, but on occasion i get one with really loose pieces.

Each series consisted of 4 possible characters to get, and ironically I got both of those shown in the booklet.

Pomeranian Figure

I’m obsessed with Pomeranian x3 they have been my favorite doggies for the past handful of years, and someday I’d really like to get one. I want to name it chestnut... or Sebastian/Yumihiko (from Ace Attorney Investigations 2), because his hair makes me think of a Pomeranian and I like him. In honor of Pomeranian, the booklet included some fun trivia; but for the sake of my sore wrist and fingers, I’m going to skip them.

There was 8 Pomeranian in total to get, once again I got the one from the booklet picture. Not a big deal, but I thought it was funny- it also happens again with the next item. 

Pokemon Slots

We’ve gotten one of these before, do you remember? In fact, I think my last one was either the same color, or one very close to it. There was 5 possible slots to get, each featuring its own Pokemon x3 I love this version of Ponyta, and this color of pink, so I’m very happy to have gotten it!

Anyway these are cute little fun devices. You insert some of these gold coins into the slot on top, then pull the handle on the side. If you get the 3 matching, you push the first button on the front to disperse the money! Isn’t that cute?

Hitman Reborn! Rings

This was a series my friend managed to semi-get me into years back. We could get 1 of 7 possible rings from the series, each coming on a ball-chain so you could either use it like a keychain, or you could take it off and wear it, re-string it, put it on display.

I’m sorry the image is kinda blurry here DX I have an old phone and sometimes that just happens. On this ring there was a cloud, 3 spades or clubs, and a fleur-de-lis on each side.

Cuphead Figure

(This figure oddly enough goes well with the terrible blur I didn’t notice originally...)

Our last item for this month is an adorable Cuphead figurine. I was a little surprised to see this of all things, I thought that game came out a few years ago, but maybe it’s still popular? I wanted to try it, but after watching a Youtuber I like play it, I thought it’d be too hard for me <3< especially since I don’t usually play those types of games.

Besides Cuphead, we could also get Mugman, both of them in their airplanes, and the figure I got, of when you lose a life.

Honestly, after seeing this box I felt bad over how I complained about last month’s box. I compared it to the February box, which I really liked and it fell short for me- but it was actually kind of fun compared to this one. Don’t get me wrong, the figures/items we got were nicely made. Basic but I didn’t really notice any issues or anything, but we actually got a bit more to do with the prior box; a stamp, a jewelry case, and the mini Shodo set which included a real usable brush and was so cute~

But to be fair, I think I might just be expecting too much. I only say that though because I’ve seen what other Gachapon series Japan has to offer, and they have some really fun ones- like figures you can use for other items, accessories, clay or slime kits, other DIY’s. I don’t know how expensive they are though, and given how much pricier other boxes became, it might be for the best we don’t get those ones very often.

Plus the one time we got slime, mine was a melty, sticky mess.

Gacha Gacha Crate Nov 20

For the time being, I’ve decided not to call these ones reviews because as I mentioned in October’s GGC post, I really don’t have anything to say about it lately. I like the box but there’s no real basis to review it on, like if we knew the prices of the capsule, there was a theme, etc.

Sea Monkey Kit

That isn’t a typo, this actually is a kit to grow sea monkey, probably the most weirdest Gacha I’ve come across yet. I’m not really into weird capsules like this >3> nor have I ever wanted a sea monkey. The kit includes the... monkey’s, plus their food, a little memo pad, and a magnifying glass for observation. This would be really cute for learning purposes, I will give it that much.

Anyway, looking at the really detailed instructions and considering I have cats, I decided this would be more trouble then it’s worth. I’m just going to give it to someone else or sell it.

Nostalgic Mini-Games

I believe this was the gacha we were supposed to get in October’s box, but due to manufacturing issues they couldn’t secure it. Well here it is now :D we could get a cute little sporting game, or one of these more unique, Japanese game inspired ones.

This specific game can be played alone or with a friend, the goal of it is to use your little hammer to knock the other players head off. The shield can protect the head from the hammer, so the game requires careful timing on both players parts.

Demon Slayer Pita Pouch

Pita is a fun little series about characters “squashed“ against a surface of something, in this case a plastic-y pouch. Demon Slayer is the current target of the series, and as you can see each pouch includes a white ziplock, very nice.

Pokemon Painters: Blue

So far I’ve gotten pink and yellow, so now we get to add Blue to the mix :3

Daily Mendako Squishy

This little cutie is from a Twitter series known as Daily Mendako. This feels a lot like a dog toy, which I do not consider to be a squishy by any means. However, this is actually really soft and squishes enough that I’m not entirely against it; besides, it’s very cute!

Sanrio 3D Globe

(I’m sorry you have to look at my hand, it helped make the figure stand out while I was taking the picture.)

I was very very VERY excited when I pulled this one out :3 I’ve seen figures like this at the mall (a glass figure on a base that lights up) and I always wanted one, but with cats and the costs and the fact its glass kept me from getting it.

For such a small object, the sphere is very heavy :P

October Gacha Gacha Crate

I’ve been preparing for the next box review when I got this box out of nowhere today, so I figured it would be a lot quicker to do it so that I could try focusing on the cleaning I’ve been putting off by re-watching Sailor Moon and replaying some old Harvest Moon games. . .

Like the previous few GGC’s I did, this won’t be a full-on review. Lately I feel like I don’t have very much commentary for these, and I don’t think trying to wait to come up with something better to say is wise either because then I put it off.

(Sorry for the slight blur, my phone just wasn’t focusing on it for some reason)

Pokemon Manpuku Pakupaku & Kirby Vinyl Figures

Kirby’s going on a journey and with him, a faithful fruit-loving Yamper. Both figures included quality coloring and detail, with the Pokemon series featuring them happily chowing down on berries, while the Kirby series included Kirby and some of his partners, like Coo, Kine, and Rick the hamster (my favorite x3).

Capchara Sanrio Figure

So, we finally know what they are called :D Capchara, because they are capsules resembling a character that you assemble. For this series, we could get Hello Kitty in a kimono, Pompompurin, Kuromi, and Badtzmaru.

Next to Hello Kitty, Kuromi has been my long-time 2nd favorite character. I’m very happy I got her!

I think she’ll be happy here too.

Buttobi Egg Panic

This was brought in as a substitute for another type of game gacha we were supposed to get, due to a manufacturing delay. Personally I think this is much cuter, so I don’t mind.

This game is very simple. You just insert the stars into the slots until the monster looking thing pops out. We’ve gotten one or two games like this before. It also includes a piece you insert under the monster to twist the location of the popping slot, and the bottom can be removed to store the pieces.

Demon Slayer Rubber Keychain

I’m sorry if anyone is bugged by me not removing this from the capsule- but at this rate I’ll probably never keep any of the Demon Slayer items I get. I’ve said this before but my friend is a big fan of the series, and I keep seeming to get characters she likes.

Sanrio Key & Lock

Our last item is this adorable rubber piece based on various Sanrio mascots from a few different series. Each includes a metal lock and two keys.

I got this weird duck-looking thing (is it a platypus?) again. Not sure who it is, but it’s pretty cute.

So that will be it, in general I found this box to be kinda lackluster with its choices. I like everything, but there was so little variety, almost everything was either a figure or keychain accessory. I was especially disappointed we didn’t actually get anything Halloween-related, or even remotely spooky; in past boxes we got at least 1 or 2. Kuromi is my favorite out of everything.
