There is no more Sam. But I played him convincingly, I thought.

GADREEL ⭑ KING OF THE DAMNED
[ID: Two close-up gifs of Gadreel as played by Tahmoh Penikett. Gadreel is wearing a blue shirt with a dark-coloured hoodie overtop. He is standing in an empty street with a plain background behind him and listening attentively to Castiel (off screen), his brow furrowed. /END ID]
As you can see, there's not much time.

9x03 “I’m No Angel” The Thing about Usefulness
Posted as part of the Series “Of Blood, Bone and Darkness”: A Carver Era Rewatch Hiatus Meta-Series
I have talked a handful of times about how I found Gadreel to be fitting in so well with the Winchesters. His wish to do good for one, but ending up causing a lot of harm to unwantedly as another. In this case here - and of course Dean asking Gadreel for help here is the first step down the rabbit role, the first domino so to say to get kicked over to set the spiralling of Dean into motion - I feel one of the biggest things that Gadreel and Dean had in common was how they define themselves over their usefulness for others. For Dean this very aspect sadly shaped him massively and to the point when he feels people don’t need him or he can’t help or be useful that he has no reason to exist (which of course would be a major aspect later in the season too when Dean is taking on the mark of Cain).
