"It’s so cold out here." Sebastian shivered. "Why are we out here again?"
Gail laughed. “Because you said you wanted to be alone.”
"Oh, right." He pulled her into his arms. "And you said you had something to tell me."
"I do. I’ve been corresponding with my mother. She’s ill. I’m going to see her."
"For how long? When?"
"I’m leaving tomorrow. I don’t know how long I’ll be gone. Not too long. I’ve discussed it with your father. He’s lending me a carriage and he said the boys could stay so their studies weren’t interrupted again."
Sebastian watched her a moment and then leaned his head down for a soft kiss. He kissed her again and again, each time a little longer than the last until he locked lips with her in a lingering kiss. “The cabin.” He whispered when he finally broke for air.
"What about it?" She asked against his lips.
"Meet me there tonight. After everyone is asleep. Will you do it?"
"Yes. Yes, I will."
They kissed again until someone tapped on a nearby window. They broke apart quickly and saw the entire family gathered around the window, laughing and pointing. Abraham and Daniel both grinned.
