stealing (candy from a) baby is not as easy as it sounds
steal the candy all you want, but DONT STEAL THE ACTUAL BABY
“Gaius... It’s the middle of the night. Can’t this wait until morning...?”
The thief had explained; bees sleep at night, making honey something much more easily accessible... As to how Robin got roped along... Well, that’s another story.
49. What about voice? Pitch? Strength? Tempo and rhythm of speech? Pronunciation? Accent?
Her voice isn’t particularly high or low in pitch. When she talks, the sound is usually strong, unless she’s feeling a strong emotion, but of course, there are times when she’s non-verbal as well.
She tends to speak rather quickly, as if her mind is going faster than her mouth (it usually is), and she has a bit of trouble regulating her volume at times. It’s one of the first things she loses track of, really. As for an accent, she has a slight Plegian accent. It ranges from barely there to very noticeable, and tends to be strongest in words containing sounds that don’t exist in Plegian.

She hardly reacts as Gaius drapes an arm round her shoulders, for the smell of sugar that clings to his every move has announced his presence in her tent long ago, and she’s grown used to such actions. She’s heard the snippets of gossip it creates from time to time, but such a thing has never bothered her--well, not really. She knows just as well as he that the gesture is simply a sign of his rarely-given trust, and it suits them just fine.
A wry smile tugs at her lips in response to his comment, though it does an excellent job of breaking her chain of thought.
“Gaius, this pile of junk, as you put it, is likely what’ll keep you alive sometime in the near future.” Contrary to the words, however, nothing but light teasing is within her tone as she tilts her head to peak up at him. “But I suppose it does look like one, hm?” For piles of paper with different diagrams scrawled over them lie across her tabletop, and the carved chess pieces representing their troops seem to stand haphazardly at first glance.

❝ oh...! i knew you would look lovely, i'm so glad you were willing to try it on.
❝ here's your candy as promised... ❞
@gailladre
She stared at the thief in a mixture of awe and disgust--really, she wasn’t sure which emotion was winning out at this point.
“Gods, that was an entire tray of sweets, Gaius! I can’t believe you didn’t leave a single one for anyone else.”
Though she’d be one of the first to admit that Sumia’s pastries were excellent, potentially to the point of being mildly addictive, this was a bit much. Suddenly, Chrom’s crazy-sounding story of how he’d managed to hire the thief using a bag of candies made much more sense.
