     For a moment, Ruya waffles. Henry’s words had been spoken as a matter-of-fact, but she wonders, still, if it troubles him to be feared. He has never said as much...but then, he’s not one to talk at length about what lies within his heart. On the other hand, she’s not sure she ought to pry--not when he’s being kind. She’s seen him in battle, seen how his apparent enjoyment of the bloodshed and fighting disarms his foes even before his spells do. She can and does trust him with her life. 

     “Thank you, Henry,” is what she settles on, a small smile tugging at her lips. “I don’t doubt you for a second. But...let’s hope it doesn’t come down to that, yeah?”

      bernadetta doesn’t expect anyone else in the dining hall so late at night.  she ought to, there are enough people here to warrant the potential of them being here much like she is, but it never really crosses her mind.  she’ll often get scolded for being up so late, that it isn’t good for her, so why would others do the same ??  that’s why this hour is spent for herself, or at least, she always plans it to be.

      “  oh…  someone else is here ?!  um, no, i-if you need — i w-won’t.  um, i’m not….  i’ll go !!  i don’t need anything !!  ”

          Oh dear. She’s heard that Bernadetta of the Black Eagles is a bit of a recluse and more than a little anti-social, but...having never seen much of the girl herself, she hadn’t realized it was this bad. 

        “Are you sure? I mean, you came all the way here...I don’t mind leaving, if it’d make you more comfortable. I’ve got what I need, anyway--these pastries will taste just as good back in my room!”

    “And yet morning always comes.” So she says, but Dimitri’s attitude is...concerning. She’d agreed to stay out of a loyalty to the Lions she’d come to care for, but...well. She’s not entirely sure what to make of the prince who had managed to escape the grave, but she’s not sure she wants to stick around to find out, either. “General Eisner asked me to bring you dinner. Said you haven’t been eating. So...here.”

      “It’s a crab!” She holds up the creature for his closer inspection. For the most part, she’s content to let it crawl across her hands, only shifting her hold to prevent it from scuttling straight off. “Isn’t it cute? I found it in one of the tide pools over there.”
