talk about tyrian's parents
OKAY SO tyrian’s dad was an iguana faunus (trait was his tail) who was a factory worker several hours outside of their village processing dust for the SDC. he grew up in menagerie, and left in order to find a better life and a better opportunity, but instead was met with violent prejudice and hatred. understandably, he grew to despise humans and would have joined the white fang if a faction operated nearby. because of this, he instilled in tyrian similar ideals, and encouraged his child to find the white fang for help when he was old enough to leave. despite his violence and anger, tyrian’s father was a kind man who showered his child with gifts at every opportunity, no matter how few they were.
tyrian’s mother was his polar opposite, a hawk faunus (with feathered arms and a pair of wings) with the gentlest heart ever seen. she was born in the village she died in, content to live her small town life. but when her parents passed away, she was left destitute and homeless. meeting tyrian’s father and getting married was her only saving grace. she worked at a bakery in the village and would bring back the burnt or stale foods as a treat for tyrian. she believed people were good and kind at heart, and that you should never be rude to a person whose story you didn’t know. she encouraged tyrian’s childhood dream of becoming a huntsman, despite his father’s certainty that it would never happen.
both of his parents died in a brutal grimm attack on their village. they locked tyrian in the cellar beneath their home to keep him safe and went out to help those in need and fight however they could. when tyrian made his way out of the cellar the next morning, he found his parents’ bodies lying next to each other, their hands still intertwined. his father’s tail had been ripped off and his chest torn open, while his mother looked as though she were crying blood as it poured from her nose, eyes, mouth, and ears, dead from a serious head injury. tyrian did his best to clean their bodies off and spent nearly an hour repositioning them so he could fall asleep in their arms one more time.
