“Stop the car. I said, stop, Jaebum!”
It’s almost terrifying how loud her voice gets amplified in the small space of the car and had it been any other time, she would have definitely laughed at the way he jumps in response to her voice. The way his fingers grip the stirring wheel let her know that his temper has anything but subsided and it grates on her nerves. A thousand words about how his lack of trust in her is quite hypocritical given all that has happened between them but she bites them back because she knows better than to anger him further.
“Get out of the car, I’m driving.” Jaebum gives her a look that clearly spells out what the fuck but she only gives him one back-- one that tells him to dare question her. She’s out the car and halfway around the car when he finally decides to move; she knows he’s moving slow on purpose so rather than reacting in the way he wants her to, she walks past him and gets in the driver’s seat.
The speed at which she’s driving is most definitely illegal but Seulgi finds no remorse anywhere in herself. The sooner they get to their destination, the better for both of them otherwise his brand new car will end up witnessing another fight. Seoul traffic is thankfully nonexistent this time of night so combining that with her speed, the reach the high-rise apartment complex in no time. She ignores the discreetly confused looks he sends her way as she parks the car in a slot labeled #2007P. When the engine stops whirring, she leads him up the elevator in silence after the doorman holds the door open for both of them.
Corny elevator music covers up the tension in the air but more than being mad at him, there’s a nervousness biting at her insides for what she’s about to show him. The steel doors open to spacious living room but even then, she refuses to answer any of the questions she knows he wants to ask. Once they set foot in the middle of the space, she lets him take in the sight of the apartment around him. There’s a framed portrait on the wall above the fireplace that she knows will answer his question once he lays eyes on it.
“Just in case I wasn’t clear enough back in the club, there is no one else.”
