Day 2 and Day 6: Sanctuary and Mourning

I know people are going to do the lovey dovey artwork but I wanted to do something emotional and real. It's so beautiful to have a partner you trust become your emotional support when life throws you curve balls. Sometimes we lose people...it's sad. You have to go through the process and learn how to let go and trust that whoever you choose to love..will be there to hold you through it.

I pray we all find that type of love.

This is Day Four of Shortaki Week 2026 for the prompt: “Caution/Date”.

I collaborated with @galaxibabe on this lovely piece! It took us forever it would be great if you gave credit and re-blogged appropriately!

It started as a simple sketch with us playing around in Magma and then we pushed it further and further like we often do. LOL. And the rest is history.

We were going for a mobster/gangster kind of them in the casino they own. I was also thinking like a postcard or old photograph (which obviously has been retouched to have the color restored LOL.)

The first one has the extra paper textures the second doesn't.

P.S. I can't believe after all the planning and waiting and working on all these pieces and we're already halfway through Shortaki Week! Crazy I say!!

Alright everyone: Today is Shortaki Week! Keeping it off with Day 1: Ice Cream!

Arnold: How are you enjoying your ice cream

Helga: it's ice cream Arnoldo, no science involved.

Arnold: oh...well how are you enjoying our first date?

Helga: Well I'm...First...date?

Arnold: Yeah, we are dating...right?...you already told me that you loved me...

Helga: Oh...heh...THAT...well umm...you've been busy with your parents and school started...I just...

Arnold: you just..? Did you not think we were dating?

Helga: Look, you know I DON'T do well with all the mushy stuff Football Head, I mean...I thought maybe you were....just being grateful after the stinkin kiss. I mean, how could you possibly...

Arnold: Love you?

Helga: Yes.. THAT!

Arnold: I'm sorry, things have been busy with my parents returning and adjusting to everything. I should have had this talk with you months ago but...Helga, I guess I just assumed we were dating. That's why I asked you to the movies and to get ice cream. (Holds her hand) I really want to get to know more about you...the real you...Let me.

Helga:...I guess, since YOU want to date me and all. I GUESS this can be an official date.

Arnold: whatever you say Helga, whatever you say.

And with Susie and Kaylee by her side, maybe this house and the man within it can finally start to feel alive and taken care of again.

Took me two days. I would have changed more but I kept changing and changing and I kinda feel like...I need to stop stressing myself lmao. Thank you to my friends that helped me along the way. Onto Shortaki week!!!!
