@cloakandshoot
Tavi never meant to withdraw when he was upset. In fact he always told himself repeatedly that he wouldn’t let one person getting on him affect him, that he’d go out and do everything the same and not let it bother him. And every time he instead ended up poking morosely through his work just to retreat back to his quarters and pout.
He didn’t even realize he was doing it specifically until he looked up from his busy work to find himself staring Hira in the eye. Right. He’d been basically invisible for three days straight. “...Sorry for vanishing,” he mumbled after a moment.
@theunindoctrinated
He didn’t get called to Apex often - that was reserved for the techs that people could actually have confidence in, not whichever random apprentice happened to get defrosted. Not that he was complaining. Apex meant military, military meant turians, and military turians would quickly figure out that he wasn’t one himself.
Andromeda meant new beginnings but that didn’t mean old prejudices were dead. He didn’t doubt that turians here would be just as likely to dislike him as turians back in the Milky Way - except here they were also stressed and in an extra small population.
So when he got ‘lucky’ enough to be called down to Apex headquarters to fix another circuit on the fritz? Well, if the Nexus had any better hiding spots, Tavi would be in them right about now. Every turian made him jump a little bit, out of some sort of expectation that they’d see right through him enough to know he was a military drop out.
Still, he tried to smile. People were less concerned about you if you smiled, right?
cloakandshoot replied to your post: ❛❛ If I had feelings, I’d be offended. ❜❜
“Lies,” she said flatly. “Its a known fact that I have no feelings, ask anyone.”
“Oh really? Who should I ask then?”
@krogantechnomancer
“Whoever decided this place was habitable was fucking insane.” Turians liked the heat well enough, sure, in fact turians thrived in heat. This place was still too hot. Still way too hot. Eladaan was awful, he decided that the instant he stepped off the ship.
Why they would send a technician to make brief contact with the krogan he had no idea. Probably because he was expendable actually.
Well there was a horrifying thought.
@mercatwork
It took more maneuvering than he usually liked to do to get the lady’s name. Nothing could just be simple on the Nexus, that would actually mean things were running smoothly. Spirits forbid that happen. So instead Tavi traded favors and credits for... a name.
Not even what he wanted. Just a name.
Vetra had better be worth it. At least once he had the name finding her was sort of easy. He cleared his throat nervously, unsure of how to go about getting anyone’s attention.
@heleusgeth
He’d refused to go to the first outpost on Eos.
No one had particularly appreciated that, not when finding colonists was like trying to pry food from the mouth of a hungry varren, but no one could really fault him either. And when Promise had died out, he hadn’t expected it to come up again. But then came Resilience. Then Prodromos.
Tavi hadn’t wanted to come to Prodromos either but with the radiation gone and the Pathfinder doing their level best to keep everyone alive he had a slightly less solid argument. Which is why he now found himself poking around caves with a scanner trying to figure out just why this particular cave kept pinging their radar.
If he found Kett he was going to be mad. Or one of those awful bugs. Peeking around the corner of the cave’s mouth he squinted to see through the dark.
@an-angaran
He needed to get over this whole ‘volunteer immediately for new experiences’ thing. First the Initiative at all - look where that had gotten him - then this... visit to the Angara planet.
The lure of fresh air had made him volunteer but the knot of nerves as soon as he stepped off to find himself surrounded by unfamiliar people made it hard to breathe in even a single gasp of that fresh air. His mandibles pulled in tight. This would be much easier without the fact that he was representing the Nexus. If he fucked up, it wouldn’t just be him getting the heat.
He took in a shuddering breath finally - as good as he’d hoped it would be after years of station life, first the Citadel then the Nexus. All he had to do was. Be himself. He approached the first Angara that held still long enough for it. “Uh... hi.”
