But I’m close, I think, another year at most and I should have enough saved.” He rolled over as well, now on his back, a quiet hum left him.

Clavius could feel the strange vibe coming from this guy, well he looked rather nervous and almost not wanting to be here. Clavius knew that feeling, he had that feeling most of the time as Irelius. But not now, now he felt better and not as vulnerable. He walked over to the other turian and placed a drink on the table.

He didn’t get called to Apex often - that was reserved for the techs that people could actually have confidence in, not whichever random apprentice happened to get defrosted. Not that he was complaining. Apex meant military, military meant turians, and military turians would quickly figure out that he wasn’t one himself.

Andromeda meant new beginnings but that didn’t mean old prejudices were dead. He didn’t doubt that turians here would be just as likely to dislike him as turians back in the Milky Way - except here they were also stressed and in an extra small population.

So when he got ‘lucky’ enough to be called down to Apex headquarters to fix another circuit on the fritz? Well, if the Nexus had any better hiding spots, Tavi would be in them right about now. Every turian made him jump a little bit, out of some sort of expectation that they’d see right through him enough to know he was a military drop out.

Still, he tried to smile. People were less concerned about you if you smiled, right?

The meeting on Horizon definitely wasn’t one of the pleasant kind and oh boy, it did show. When the turian entered the room, she didn’t even look in his direction. By the little noises he made she could tell it was him.
