Samsung plans to counter the next iPhone with the new Galaxy Note
The electronics giant Samsung is expected to unveil the sequel to its popular smartphone Samsung Galaxy Note at an event scheduled on August 29, 2012 that is just few weeks before the expected launch of Apple’s new iPhone. The two leading smartphone makers are not ready to leave any stone unturned against each other by introducing these two most hyped smartphones: iPhone 5 and Galaxy Note. Allegedly, Both Apple and Samsung are at loggerheads with the patent trials in the U.S.
Recently a Samsung spokesman said without much elaboration “We plan to unveil the next Galaxy Note at the Samsung Mobile Unpacked event in Berlin on August 29.” The event is scheduled to begin just couple of days before the IFA, the biggest consumer electronics trade fair in Europe begins.
According to the speculations of the South Korean media, the new Galaxy Note will be featured with the unbreakable 5.5 inch display (slightly bigger than the existing one), faster processor and an improved camera. Once considered new for the smartphone market, Samsung has surpassed Apple in 2011 to become the largest smartphone maker of the world. It is estimated that Samsung has shipped around 50.5 million units in the April-June 2012 quarter that is almost twice of the iPhone that has sold its 26 million handsets.
