Have you ever heard of vulture culture?

It’s sort of a subset of the general idea of taxidermy where you just sorta... collect animal bits off of remains, like a vulture. Bugs, bones, horns, claws, teeth, furs. I’m especially a fan of beetles ( though i have had NO luck whatsoever finding any on my own, and my current collection is entirely from shops ) and furs, tbh, though I also have a fair amount of bones ( including a mummified alligator’s foot and a skull ).

The horn I found in some antique shop way up north from where I live- It was bought like... 7 or 8 years ago, and I have NO clue what animal its supposed to be from. When you shake it smth inside of it rattles tho so that’s fun. The bag is made out of rabbit hide, and the fur at the bottom is a silver fox face hide. There's a jar of seashells, a jar of some misc. bones ( including some vertebrae which are my f a v o r i t e ), and another jar full of teeth and claws- also some random bits and bobs of crystals that i’ve gotten over the years. The butterfly ( it’s in a temporary case like literally all my other bugs bc I STILL have not gotten around to buying proper pins with which to mount everything ) is a mother-of-pearl ( forest, supposedly. i’m not an entomologist, i just read what the tags say. )

These are my beetle babies. I have been meaning to get some proper pins to mount these guys w/ for literally like... what feels like a year, now. They were temporarily pinned by the corners of their lil baggies and then pinned into the lil shadow box thing in hopes of getting it. off my floor bc i tend to break thing sdkjfhsdhf

Except now i’ve kind of just condemned them to an eternal half-state in which they will probably never be pinned properly because I absolutely cannot get the shadowbox off the wall.

For purposes of proper admiration as to how fucking pretty these things here, here’s a photo from when they all first arrived ( and i IMMEDIATELY organized them by size bc im a freak )

the fur on this one is INCREDIBLY soft. It was bought as like, a ~ * b grade * ~ hide but i absolutely love it

the paw smelled SO bad when it first arrived

really i’m gay as fuck so i’m more partial to male characters but jean ???? miss jean ma’am ?? i love her .

& also i think u write jean very well i was thinking abt writing her myself but i don’t think i could do her justice like y’all do

so i will keep cheering my fellow jean appreciators on from the sidelines

      “Grand Master Jean!” He greeted the other with a big grin on his face. Even though he was rarely in town due to his thirst for adventure and exploring the unknown parts of Teyvat, he was still a part of the knights, thus he always returned to his new home. 

      Caramia wasn’t very close to the other knights but he really wanted to change that. What better way was there to get to know his superior by offering his help? “I know ye be busy. Can I be o' any assistance maybe?”

Well, that certainly wasn’t something you’d see every day. The grand master herself out of the headquarters and about. Perhaps it was the right occasion for a wish- but Morgan would keep that lil and sad attempt at a joke to himself. It was unlikely that she was out for anything other than work, anyways.

Maybe he could offer a helping hand.

“Excuse? Grand master?” Only after starting to talk did they realize that maybe, just maybe, this was a tad more awkward than anticipated. “Would you like a helping hand?”

Still, he wasn’t about to back off now.
