“I don’t think this is a good idea,” George says for the umpteenth time. His voice is tight, leaving him sounding like a strangled cat. “In fact, I think this is a bloody terrible idea and we should stop. Now.”

“Don’t be so boring,” Alex scolds almost immediately; the grin on his face is fighting for space, cheeks bunched up adorably beneath his eyes. “It’s too late now, and it’s fine, anyway — Oscar already said it was safe, right Osc?”

He had said that. Sort of. Shrugging lazily, Oscar says, “safe as any other spell.”

“That,” George snips. “Is not as comforting as you seem to think it is.”

“Babe,” Alex sighs heavily, the grin finally slipping as he turns to George, putting a hand on either of his face. It forces George to look at him, blue meeting brown. Instantly, Oscar feels blood bloom beneath his cheeks, the urge to avert his gaze jarring. His presence feels like an intrusion on a painfully intimate moment, at least to him. “It’ll be fine. You trust me, yeah? We trust Oscar?”

George nods as best he can with Alex cradling his face like that.

“Then there’s nothing to worry about,” releasing George from his grip and sliding back into a seated position, Alex smiles again, altogether too smug looking. He nods at Oscar, imperious. “Do it.”

Sighing with all the weight of the world behind it, Oscar reels off the usual disclaimer, tone bored. “Okay. You know the drill. It’ll only last the night, there won’t be any long lasting effects, and I can’t un-do it once it’s done. Okay?” He pauses, eye twitching when they both just stare up at him like expectant kittens. “I need you to say it.”

“Yep, perfect, all good,” Alex says instantly. His grin is back and splitting his face.

George is a little less enthusiastic, but he nods. “Yes, fine.”

Oscar raises his hands to cast the spell, nothing less than muscle memory by now. Honestly, if he’d have known getting into F1 would come with him casting stamina spells on drivers so that they could fuck each other, he might’ve reconsidered.

Maybe.

“Okay,” the familiar buzz of magic settles under his skin, warm and comforting. “You should be good to go,” and then, before he can think better of it, he adds: “you could just take viagra next time, you know.”

George shudders, looking appalled at the idea. “I trust that less than you.”

Which — that’s kind of nice, Oscar thinks, in a weird way.

He’s just turning to leave when he hears a muttered, harried sounding conversation behind him, a clearing of a throat halting him in his steps. Brow raised, he turns to see them both looking at him again — just as expectant, but equally as hungry. He swallows, mouth dry.

“We were wondering if you fancied sticking around,” Alex says casually, tilting his head to the side. “Not sure I can handle Georgie here all by myself.”

So, the image part is quite straightforward, whilst the padel part is a pure competitive spirit at work. That’s how most Formula 1 drivers live: competition is everywhere on and off the track. Even somewhat mild-tempered (another not-very-alpha attribute) Oscar gets the heebie-jeebies when he loses a padel match. Especially to Alex, who’s joking about Oscar’s padel skills at every given opportunity and had the audacity to gift Oscar a padel lessons certificate for Christmas. So, naturally he has to be destroyed.

— or: Oscar gets too cocky about his padel skills and proposes a bet to his primary padel rivals Alex and George. However he overestimates himself and ends up losing the padel match, the bet, and a little bit of dignity along the way.
