Thank you Oddities, Mcfnaf, and to people like them. I owe you so much.
I hope you have wonderful futures though I will likely never know you.
this is very very long but I kinda needed to say it as a vent and thank you letter even if theyll never see it.
When I was about 8 I first started watching Mcfnaf/The Oddities Roleplay, and I recently just realized how much of my life has been shaped by them and the fact I never really got to thank them.
And the more I look around the more I see this world has truly been changed by them, even in ways you don’t really even understand or see because they were such a unique experience.
I can’t remember 80% of my childhood but I always remembered them, which is why it hurt so damn badly to realize I didn't need them anymore because in multiple ways they saved me.
When they ended/went down hill I spent a couple years trying to fill that hole, only to realize that there wasn’t a hole to fill. They filled me with so much love, and gifted me the ability to grow despite my circumstances,
Before them I was fully considering being alone forever because not even my family was any good and the few people I genuinely did like I was basically banned from seeing and told they abandoned me. These creators gave me the craving for connection that I needed to be able to heal from this and reach back out to people I used to love.
I didnt want to replace the Oddities or mcfnaf, I just wanted the feeling of healing and love that they provided me with and they helped me realize that I dont need the past, I just need to be okay.
sure it hurts with nostalgia to see them go, but as puppet idk who plays him said, ya gotta let old stuff go to make room for the new. Sure it’s sad but thats life.
Things dont hurt so bad anymore because of them.
though the lab and the love that came with it will be missed, I’ll never regret the fact it existed.
Thank you, and I’ll miss you. I truly believe the few moments of kindness I have that have grown into anything special are likely because of you. Without you I would have been a much more bitter and angry person. I used to be so much more considering of violence in a much less joking way. You taught me how to laugh about so much while also understanding that you just cant laugh at some things and thats okay.
You’re characters genuinely allowed me to get attached to something and genuinely feel compassion for things and to be okay with them decaying.
I get the privilege of wanting you back and remembering the good ol days whilst knowing that if something this good happened once it can happen again just as if not better than what you made.
I hope to see you once more in the future, but I am finally okay with letting you go.
(I mean none of this in a parasocial way and I know none of these people know me or feel anything towards me I was just in a really bad patch in life and felt I needed to thank them even if they ended up doing negative things irl.)
