Can anyone give me tips on how to survive life without a gallbladder? Without having to spend your whole life blasting off on the toilet? 😂
I take the enzymes & it makes me only have a low-budget colon cleanse once a day instead of multiple, but it's still painful lol
How’s your week going? 😅😒 I’ve been here since Sunday

Cholecystectomy less than 24 hours post op
Found out the gallbladder removal is called a cholecystectomy.
I’m so fucking sore. I didn’t think I’d be hurting this much. Also the gas releasing through my shoulder is really painful. Though I am still able to walk around so I’m thankful for that.
My dad told me the first thing I said when I woke up was “where’s my pants?” Apparently I have said this every time I wake up from a procedure 😂
I’m alive
Surgery went well yesterday, and I managed to get a little sleep last night so I’m feeling better.
Reading people’s experiences with the surgery really helped me out, so I’m going to throw mine under a read more if you’re interested.
So a bit of a health update?
I can’t for the life of me remember if I’ve mentioned it or not but I found out what I have wrong with me: gallstones, GERD, and a stomach hernia.
Since November I’ve had about 7 gallbladder attacks. I’ve gone through all of the tests my gastroenterologist ordered: blood work, a breath test, ultrasound, and upper endoscopy.
It turns out that, more likely than not, I’ll need surgery to remove my gallbladder. Along with being “full of stones” it’s super inflammed (they couldn’t even seen my pancreas) and the lining of the gallbladder wall is thickening, which is bad.
It’s weird how as someone who gets afraid easily I’m not afraid of having the surgery. If anything I’m afraid of leaving my gallbladder in; I feel like I have a bomb in my abdomen and I can’t see when it’s gonna detonate.
Has anyone gotten their gallbladder removed or know of someone who did? I’d love to hear what it’s like post-op or if you/they treated the gallstones a different way? You can dm me or send me an ask: I have anon turned ✌🏻
Got gallstones? Sticks and stones may break your gallbladder, but a cholecystectomy will take care of those pesky rocks for good.
