I should probably do one more "blue themed/color schemed" work, but I ran out of blue frames...

(So weird painting to fill frames, but I'll get used to it... )

This coming month (March 2019), my goal is to present blue-toned artworks that blend my Van Gogh-inspired works with my Van Gogh-influenced works...

This may even become my "schtick," as I love doing the artist reinterpretations + showing how I incorporate the lessons learned into my fully original works.

So many to choose from, too!

Finally got to edit the limited footage of my first gallery showing that happened back in October of this year!

Someone's already expressed interest in the owls, but I just wanted to show how these 2 pieces look together...

Apparently the advice for artists wanting to show publicly, is to create a "body of work" (actually several bodies of work) that look well together when displayed on the same wall.

For me, that means creating several works within the same time period, using similar colors, styles, motifs, etc.

What jars me (but I had a teacher who warned me about this years ago) is that you basically have to use color palettes that go with people's home decor...

Which means you have to be up to date on the current popular home decor color schemes...

And the subject matter people are willing to buy...

And use them whether you like them, or not.

A preview of my piece for 404 Found ATL's gallery show: Solara 🌞 I'm excited to be part of a 70+ local artists group show at Limelight Gallery!

It's my first traditional piece in years and it's been great to get back in touch. Hoping this'll be the first of many acrylic paintings!

Opening Reception will be on May 3rd, 4-8 PM.

It's the little things.

Art got accepted into gallery showing (fuck yeah!), but I'm going to be out of the country (Going home for the first time in 8 years!)

So the gallery director is making all sorts of accommodations for me to be able to drop off my art before the bump in day.

I thanked her for making these accommodations and her reply was: It's my pleasure. I love your artwork. 😭😭😭😭😭😭
