That is true, yes. This kind and soft side is one of the most famous Eight traits, and there is nothing wrong about it. I generally prefer kind Doctors to the more manipulative ones. I’m just saying: there is a huge Eight development and complexity built over the years in Big Finish. They were building him for the Time War. There are stories demonstrating his darker side, and stories showing his change towards a person who could fight in a war and kill all the Daleks.

apparently there are sequels to the original manga that people are hoping netflix will adapt

the part of me that really loved what they did with the themes would be fine without a season two. the part of me that is emotionally compromised however would appreciate it lol

it really is though; if not then it is definitely close. i’ve been upset by endings before but that was just absolutely brutal. 

Apparently it spawned stuff like Evangelion and in return it started referencing Evangelion in Crybaby

that’s cool, i always like it when different stuff can soft of make nods to each other. i haven’t seen evangelion but i did sort of pick up on that, especially in this one scene where after everything has gone to shit it just shows lines of crosses across the horizon.

Ah, well, I haven’t read those yet, but if that’s true I suspect I won’t like them much ‘cause the character in the Thrawn Trilogy ain’t nice and I actually like him that way.

Big Finish has made me incredibly fussy

same, i have been too long spoiled with their very high quality output, and it makes a lot of podcasts hard to listen to

(it also makes me want more straight up audio dramas without the conceit that they’re being recorded specifically as a podcast/diary/radio in universe, but alas, most seem to go that route)

AND AT THE BOTTOM A SHIDDY PAINTING

rewrite the hand of thrawn duology so that instead of the empire of the hand, it’s a fortress full of nothing but thrawn clones. luke and mara wander around in increasing perplexity. eventually they find a heavily guarded vault, but upon breaking into it, there are only terribly drawn paintings of thrawn done by pellaeon and/or car’das. although instead of murdering all the clones, they probably take a few back home with them. no one’s really sure what to do with all these thrawns

Given how Tierce turned out I think that a good percentage of them could be brilliant but vindictive

with tierce there was also the issue of not knowing he was a clone from the get go, which caused even more problems. thrawn’s ysalamiri were supposed to guard against that, so we can only hope his clone wouldn’t decide to go on a murder spree or something
