Not to be dramatic but thank you for giving me someone to relate to in Sam. Sometimes I feel like I'm going insane and my anxiety dictates who I am. Sometimes I feel like no one understands what it's like to be at war with your mind/worries. Seeing it come to life in Sam and seeing how she is capable of still moving forward gives me hope for myself and my future. So thank you for that!

Prompt 11: You're a monster.

Hi, I love causing Kepler pain! This is short and not so sweet but i’m pretty happy with it!

The silence in the room was weighted. Minkowski was just outside the door, armed. She refused to say if it was for the safety of Kepler or Jacobi. But Jacobi found himself not caring.

“Why did you do it, Jacobi?” Kepler asked. For the first time, he didn’t seem to be talking to Jacobi as a subordinate. For the first time, Kepler was speaking to Jacobi as an equal. And it was intoxicating. Jacobi had let himself love how Kepler controlled him, the manipulation, the lies coated in honey. Jacobi had let himself love Kepler. And now, as he stared at him as an equal, they were all he could see. Minkowski had said, correctly, that he was mad at himself for letting Maxwell die. But that didn’t mean he wasn’t as pissed as hell for everything that Kepler had done to him.

The lying. The “don’t you trust me, mr. jacobi?” when Jacobi dared voice a concern or opinion. The “necessary sacrifices” that had defined Jacobi’s career. The times that Kepler had barely batted an eyelid when Jacobi or Maxwell had been about to die. The lack of reaction when Maxwell did die.

“Oh, I don’t know. I just thought the world might be better off without Warren Kepler,” Jacobi retorted.“You think you’re any better than me, Jacobi? You’re a monster.”“Oh, absolutely. But you know what? I’ll admit it. You’re worse than a monster. You think you’re a hero. We’re done, Warren. We’re done.”

okay! (standard disclaimer that I’m not at all good at explaining things but I will do my best)

right, so! Mabel is a super good fantasy/horror podcast written by Bceca De La Rosa (the offical description is “ a podcast about ghosts, family secrets, strange houses, and missed connections.”)  Avoiding spoilers, but the podcast starts out with the main character, Anna, as the live-in caretaker for Mabel’s grandmother. Mabel. Anna’s attempts to contact Mabel are what kick off the Intense Spooky Shenanigans that happen through the rest of the podcast (the format of the podcast being presented as voicemails between characters). There’s been way more that’s happened since, with the podcast having just started it’s second season. Included in the Spooky Shenanigans are an eldritch house and fae goings-ons with at least some influence from the Tam Lin story.

So yes, this is probably a bit scattered but I definitely recommend this podcast. The story is great and, in my opinion, the writing is absolutely gorgeous.

One of the greatest actors in our lifetime. He entertained us as the man who raised Hellboy, gave Harry Potter his wand, the first victim of a Xenomorph, a Elephant Man, and A Time Lord. John Hurt, one of the greatest English actors has passed to the afterlife. It's a shame that we have not cherish him as much as we did when he was alive. Thank you, Mr. Hurt for entertaining us.
