Prior to this, a Liberi Operator—tasked with processing new hire records—had spent a full fifty minutes employing every tactic from gentle persuasion to firm insistence, attempting to convince GALLUS² to comply with HR regulations and provide accurate, verifiable identity information.
But GALLUS² simply could not comprehend why the entire HR Department refused to accept its self-designation as a “Red Junglefowl.” Nor could it understand why it was being lumped together as a “Liberi” alongside those lanky, sparsely feathered individuals.
Even inside the Doctor’s office, the argument between GALLUS² and the HR Operator showed no signs of abating—until the Doctor finally found an opening to interject, offering a rapid-fire explanation of the evolutionary history of Terra’s species over the past ten millennia.
