August 19th 2013 @ El Rey Theater
1st review! Whoop whoop! So we recently saw Best Coast tear it up in L.A. at the El Rey Theater. The El Rey is a cool venue, small enough for a good show but lots of different levels for GA to stand so everyone could see. The Lovely Bad Things and Bleached opened up for them and they were both awesome.
Best Coast was badass. They opened with Crazy For You and everyone flipped, dancing and singing with them. Bethany sounds great live, plays guitar like a pro and cracks puns in between songs. Bob is quiet of course but plays bass like nobody's business. Best songs of the night we thought were Do You Love Me Like You Used To, No One Like You, I Want You, The Only Place and Up All Night which was BEA-utiful! They closed with Boyfriend and Bethany crowd-surfed! :) It was a blast, even from farther back.
On a scale of 1-5 based on money spent, artist, venue and experience:
We give this show a 4 because we had a great time, didn't spend too much and were very impressed with the bands we saw :) We would definitely recommend seeing Best Coast live, as well as The Lovely Bad Things and Bleached :)
Best Coast's new EP Fade Away will be released this Tuesday, Oct. 22nd. But you can stream the album live here. They'll also be playing an In-Store performance at Amoeba Records in L.A. that same day, and you can live stream it at http://www.amoeba.com/live-shows/upcoming/detail-2760/?utm_source=Twitter&utm_medium=Post&utm_campaign=BestCoastLA
