Hey guys, i’m interested in making a metroidvania style game. Is there anyone out there interested in helping me learn how to code it (or just in coding it for me which would be easier). I’m obviously going to provide the art assets and story, and hopefully some of the music too (but if there are any musicians who want to help please let me know!). Actually, anyone who wants to help on the project can let me know, i’d appreciate all the help i can get!
I’m not quite ready to make anything public yet, and i don’t really have any money to pay anyone with, but if you’re interested and want to be a part of the project please send me a message and we can talk! :D
Okay... So I wanted to try my hand at making a game. Then realized I have no knowledge in the field and I'd probably bore of it quickly without some helping hands and buddies to keep me motivated. I'm getting things smoothed over, because this game idea has been around for a t least a year previous. (Which is actually good, it helps I have some time to space out my thoughts and realize my mistakes!)
I'm trying to work out all the kinks and what I want to keep, what needs to go, whether I'll be aiming this game more towards console or handheld, etc, etc...
If anybody thinks they can help me, here's some things I could use help on off the top of my head: (List Idea Under the Cut [because I want to sound like an idiot in semi-private])
-Control Group. Basically a group of people I can trust to help me. These are the people that will help me and the others lay out the plans. What the main storyline is, who will play parts in what. Someone with storyline prowess, layout design (for example, where the houses will go on the island, how the island looks, and how the islands will be placed) and so on, so forth.
-Character critique. I'm going to need someone to back me up on making the villagers and such. Their job will be to watch over the Artist and suggest character alterations and point out parts in the character that could be better done.
-Artist. I do good art, I'll give myself that. However, I do not believe I have the art skills needed for this. Mainly what the artist will be doing is assisting with polishing the character design (so artist and CC up there will be working together) and making them look pretty. c:
-Pixel Artist (Handheld). This is where the Control Group sets in. If we decide on doing a handheld type, this will be the person doing the character sprites. This is both the big sprite (the one that appears as they talk) and the overworld sprite. Not needed, but appreciated if they can also take over the background job.
-Pixel Artist 2 (Handheld). The background artist, if PA1 can't do it. Simple as that, really. Ahaha...
(Okay, this is where the console related stuff goes. Now honestly, I don't know much about 3D animation. I would ASSUME that it could go roughly like the pixel artist, but more complex? That being one working on the character models, one doing background scenes, etc... I am honestly clueless in this area... I am so sorry. |c If anyone could offer what they could do or explain the insane wonders of 3D creation to me, that'd be wonderful.)
