August 1 Demo Fixing Update

First of all, I wanna thank everyone for the support. This is my first time making a game, so I hope that you guys have enjoyed the demo. Now there’s a new update to the demo game, fixing some mistakes I made. Thank you guys for letting me know. If there’s nothing more to fix in the demo, I will now focus on trying to finish the full game.

Additions

Implemented solitaire as a mini game.

Mystery character can now show you your crystal status.

Implemented album, now you can see pictures that the characters give you.

Fixes

Misspellings mostly.

Door height (made them smaller)

Change door sprites (replaced some sprites for others)

Diablo 4 on PS+ this month. i got it used and i have played so little of it. i think the main issue is between me and the class speccing UI. it’s horrendous and it all feels more limiting. but diablo has a slow grind in regards to getting to the “good stuff”. Similar to working up the point in an idle or clicker “game” where all your assets and investments multiply exponentially, until it all looks “slow” again.

I’ve been playing cookie clicker in a browser for a while now. If I knew I could afford a nice condo without struggling or selling my soul I’d probably not be playing clickers. It’s like a fidget toy for soothing anxiety over future economic conditions.

I’m also playing as a druid so it’s a totally new experience. I generally prefer wand based magic, warrior, or a monk. I do like a good wolf/ghost/creature pack spell or to summon a sentry/big beast buddy. Becoming the creature doesn’t do much for me.

I famously left Tumblr like a decade ago when the Bara tag was getting filled up with furry stuff. I will always support equality and diversity but it still stings. Dogs are not hot. I draw the line at ogres, personally.

The story so far is very demonic, depressing, and plodding. And the plodding is really a part of the gameplay design. You can’t tell a story that fast in a game when you can chunk it up and send a character to three parts of the map in order to progress. But I am not really paying attention between trying to find a load-out that works while getting my butt handed to me. I’ve picked the hard setting because I know why I bought this game. Even not having gotten a character to 70 in Diablo 3, it’s still so much fun, alone and with a friend. D4 feels a bit like a chore whereas D3 smooths out my brain.

Yes there are other games to play but I like having a library I can jump around in whenever I want to experience something in particular, like driving away hordes of demons from Hell.

I feel like if I can pull this off and finish and make this game idea functional it could be really cool...although I might cut back a few options to get a release out and test the waters for it...if I can get enough of it ready in the first place.

I wanted to see if I could try out having a *bunch* of different body options and things spiraled from there. I’ve had this file and have been picking away at it for over a year now (life happens so I didn’t touch it for a long while)
