Here's a game that kept showing up in the 'related games' section as I was scrolling down past the comments in the Yahoo Korea zodiac series games. The thumbnail spoke to me, so I had to check out this game!
As the title suggests, there's a handful of green clothing pieces to choose from as well as some in other colors. To me, this game absolutely RADIATES Y2K vibes... which checks out because it was uploaded to Y8 all the way back in 2007 (this actually predates most of the zodiac games by about a year)!!
I feel like I could potentially turn this character into an OC... maybe an Irish one, of course, it just fits, lol. She's got an outfit for St. Patrick's Day plus a casual, everyday one. As iconic as the background music and sound effects of the Yahoo Korea games are, I couldn't resist muting it and playing 'Tell Me Ma' in another tab. :)
This is a super cute game I found while searching for similarly-named Fruit Fairy titles from didigames. It's another one of these adorable Yahoo Korea games from the 2000s (this one was uploaded to Y8 in 2009)!
Upon exploring some more in the related games section on Y8, I found an earlier upload of this game in 2007 under the name 'Dancing Princess'! This one is probably the original and 'Fruit Fairy' is just a copy/reupload, oops.
I had to make three different outfits for this girl because all the clothing and accessory pieces are so cute with their fruit theme!!
Similar to the zodiac series by the same developer, the girl will comment on the outfit you picked for her when you finish the game. She says different things depending on how much 'effort' you put in her outfit, and from what I've learned, you just have to give her everything from a top + bottom/full-body outfit, hair accessory, necklace, shoes, and so on to make her happy. If you only give her a few of these, her comment (and facial expression) changes; I think that's what happened when I put her in the green/lime-themed outfit. I used the Google Translate camera on my phone to find out what she said (since the game is in Korean) and she straight up called the outfit 'ordinary'...... lmfao, whatever girl. The outfit is cute as it is, stop complaining like a spoiled brat.
Et finalement, we've reached the end of the Yahoo Korea zodiac dress up series!!!
Like the Sagittarius game posted directly before this one, Libra isn't included in Y8's curated 'Zodiac Sign Dressup' series collection for whatever reason, despite being uploaded to the site about a year before the games in that collection (2007 versus 2008 for most if not all of those games in the series). It's whatever, I guess... I'm still going to tag this under 'zodiac sign dressup' for convenience's sake. :)
Unfortunately, I felt like this particular game was one of the more 'meh' out of the zodiac games (I thought the Gemini one also didn't have a lot to work with)... I didn't really like ANY of the clothing pieces. Quite a bit of the dresses look too 'big' and baggy-looking, if that makes any sense. Even the pieces that look more casual just... didn't do it for me. The choices for accessories are still pretty cute and the shoes are okay, I guess.
And at least she was happy with the outfit I picked for her when I finished the game. Usually, these girls give me flack when I actually try to put something together even with limited/ugly options.
Honorable mention goes to this comment I found below this game. That person definitely has a point, lol!!! I felt like it would've matched a blue outfit more if there were blue shoes (and accessories as well, to add onto that). You can see I just gave my girl some plain black shoes since I felt those clashed the least with her outfit.
I know the title of this game is different from most of my other Yahoo Korea zodiac dress up series posts, but I'm still counting this as part of the series (and tagging it respectively) considering it's more than likely made by the same developer. Weirdly enough, it's not included in the 'Zodiac Sign Dressup' series that (I think) was created by Y8 themselves??? Most of the games in that series were uploaded to Y8 in 2008, but this particular game was uploaded a year earlier, in 2007! That being said, I don't know why Y8 didn't bother looking for this game and/or adding it to their curated series when it already predated most of the other games...
Anyway, like all the other zodiac games, there are some cute pieces of clothing and accessories here. Most if not everything seems to be a bit too fancy for an athletic archer though, lol.
You can see a bit of this girls' comments on what I picked for her when I finished the game (that's a mechanic in a lot of these Yahoo Korea games, how the character judges you based on how 'well' you dressed them), but like a few others I've featured on this blog, she wasn't all too impressed with her outfit and called it 'ordinary'. -_- I did end up putting together a different outfit she liked more..... after like two or three tries.
Finally coming up to what I think is the most iconic of the Yahoo Korea zodiac dress up games... because it's my zodiac sign!!!
The music alone brought a huge wave of nostalgia, even with how repetitive I realize it got, lol. There are lots of beautiful, flowy gowns and skirts in this one! Unfortunately, though, there only seems to be a SINGLE hair accessory option, and that's this pink flower that just serves to replace a different accessory she has at the start of the game. You can't even, like, swap it out for something else.
At least she was happy (and wasn't picky about it being 'ordinary') with the outfit I picked for her!! I consider that a win in my book as an Aquarius.
I feel like this game has a mix of casual and formal outfit choices. However, for whatever reason, I also feel like there isn't much to work with in this particular game in terms of accessories. You can give her a necklace and a single bracelet or swap them out for shawls and a lyre, respectively, and....... that's about it. There are no earrings or head accessories. Oh, and there's also like two pairs of socks.
That being said, I wasn't all that surprised when this girl ended up giving me grief about her outfit choice, calling it 'ordinary' like what happened when I played a few of the other zodiac dress up games. Eventually, though, I did put together an outfit that she ended up liking more..... after like three tries. -_-
She loved when I put her in all black, in case you were wondering. Girl is allergic to color.
You know the drill...... it's another one of these Yahoo Korea zodiac dress up games!!! This would probably be my favorite of the games if it weren't for a certain one with my own astrological sign...
The outfits in this game definitely give off fantasy princess vibes. There is actually a decent chunk of hair accessories you can choose from and they're really pretty!!! I especially love the ones that weave into her hair à la Rapunzel (there's this one with the beads and another one that's a ribbon).
My only grievance with this game is similar to a few others I previously posted about: after finishing the game, she commented on her outfit being 'ordinary', seemingly not being fully satisfied with what I picked for her. On a second playthrough, I put a different outfit on her that she was much happier with. So...... either I'd be an awful fashion consultant or she's blind and ignorant to the vision I have for her. Obviously, I'm going with the latter.
Ah yes, the Gemini before that one Google AI thing ruined that word..... I MEAN here's another installment in the Yahoo Korea zodiac dress up series!!!!
Unlike the other zodiac games I've played thus far, I can't quite figure out what 'theme' this particular maker has... there seems to be a mix of casual clothing pieces to Grecian and fantasy/princess. Heck, there's even one ballgown that resembles Belle's (Beauty and the Beast)! That being said, though, I couldn't really figure out how to put together an actual 'cohesive'/'matching' outfit??? I don't know if that makes sense. Like for this particular outfit, I would've loved to give her a green or gold necklace, maybe a green bow in her hair to pair with her outfit. I admit quite a bit of the shoes look kind of ugly and don't mesh well with the much prettier outfits and accessories. Did I mention there are only like two choices for necklaces? And this blue one is the prettier of the two (in my opinion)...
Oh, and you can't dress the other twin on the left. It's good that she even appeared, but I feel like they could've made this a unique feature with the Gemini/twins theme, lol.
Also: I mentioned in a few of my previous zodiac posts that the girl will comment on the outfit you picked for her when you finish the game (in Korean, so I usually just pull up the Google Translate camera on my phone to figure out what she says), and this girl in particular didn't seem impressed with her outfit as she called it 'ordinary'......... I mean, I didn't really have much to work with, bitch.
