Smoke curls around his wrist, caressing the skin with a gentle touch. There’s a gentle caw, then the Raven is landing on his shoulder, smoke swirling down until it’s tangible, heavy. Claws dig into the leather of his coat, but Bucky doesn’t look, just lifts a hand. There’s a scroll between his fingers, curled tight enough to be gripped by the Raven’s claws, and the Raven takes it with a chitter of his beak.

“Yes, it has to be this way,” Bucky says in response, eyes on the figure below. The silver sword glints as it swings, cleaving apart the shrieking swarm of harpies. “He can’t know what happened.”

There’s another chitter, then an indignant squawk as Bucky straightens abruptly. The Raven hops his way down to the fencepost Bucky had been leaning on, flutters his wings.

“I don’t care,” Bucky responds. “He cannot know.”

i asked abt nuclear apocalypse fics (specifically fallout aus) but that was like a year ago n i can’t find that ask anywhere, and there was one specific fic where steve wakes up in a vault and i remember he meets a ghoul and bucky keeps trying to assassinate steve and sam is a caravan trader or smth like that. ik this is pretty vague and thanks if y’all can find what i’m looking for !!
