The horrifying thing about our social media nowadays is that once you have an account, it sticks with you forever. Have it around long enough, it can serve as your personal diary and life gallery that connects you to people that you love and people you'd rather forget. It's so hard to do a reset because the digital world is such an integral part of your life now. So I can't truly run away and hide from people and things that remind me of the bad stuff. At the very least, it forces me to be braver. If it would be too rude to unfriend them, and too crippling to just delete every account I have ever have, because then, how would I reach out to the people I love? So there, logging on to the net for me everyday is like heading out in any RPG game. I quest to meet and find the people I love but every now and then I have a random enemy encounter. But instead of fleeing, I will fight every monster in my path with all my power -- if I can't convince them to join my party instead.
