This is a Games Cake, the predecessor to the sheet cake after a soccer game. This took me an entire day to complete. It’s double layer fruit cake with two pounds of dried glass fruits, a layer of red currant jelly, over a pound of marzipan, another pound of fondant and then royal icing and fondant decorations. I wanted my decor to reflect 2020 with my drippy design and scroll work as well as my hashtag in place of the game it would have represented in the 1900s. I will never make this cake again.
