So time for me to rant about the Gamilas andromedas and how awesome they are for a bit! To my eye, the Gamilas Andromeda variant is exactly how such a design would look. It’s obviously an Andromeda, but just about every individual component has been replaced with something from Gamilas’ design style. You’ve got the ‘eyes’ in place of the side blisters, positron turrets replacing the shock cannons, the main engine of the Gaiderol (Schultz’s battleship), secondary positron cannons just forward of the ‘eyes’ and the same ‘blister’ cannons that the destoria has just below the bridge. The bridge is also an amazing redesign, featuring classic gamilas design elements. The wave motion guns on the bow also bulge out just before the emitters, making them even more reminiscent of Gamilas designs from the classic series. And to top it all off, they;’re perfectly painted in that classic dark green and yellow color scheme we know and love from 2199. They’re 2202′s best original mecha design so far, and I cannot love them enough.
