I was digging around in the sand, enjoying being on peaceful while I transport some villagers. I've fortified the wall around the desert village against the husks that wiped out all the former occupants. Now, it's just 3 of us: myself, a villager, and cartographer I borrowed from the nearby savanna. Their village was doomed from spawn, less than 100 blocks from a Pillager tower on a great river. Despite my best efforts to fortify and repopulate the savanna village, the Pillagers remain a constant source of violence and strife. I have imposed a temporary peaceful time to make these villagers a new home in a desert village, flanked by a vast jungle and a mangrove swamp. They will care for the panda population across the river and I will help them with resettlement. As I'm finishing the wall that will protect these two while I make the trek back to rescue their friends and family, I find my life in the cruel hands of gravity. An unfortunate block of sand, opening to a lava pit just a few blocks below. Alas, we are in peace time. No food in my hotbar. Elytra on my back and gold on my head instead of my full armor. I panic, flounder, finally jump onto a block of sandstone! And then, with a sliver of health, I slip back in.
My first major loss! Luckily it's a realm and on day 2300+ so I have plenty of help and resources stored away to get me back to full power. It's just sad! Also I'm so mad at myself for fumbling at the end. If I had just stuck the landing! Oh well
