Hi.
1. First impression: I get that he’s kind of like babysitting me, but he actually lets me do science, so he’s pretty cool I guess.2. Truth is: I think you’re one of the only people who truly understands me and my fears.3. How old do you look: early 40s4. Have you ever made me laugh: Yes, mostly with science humor.5. Have you ever made me mad: Not intentionally. I mean, I thought about you when I was going through a rough time and you weren’t there, but you were going through your own rough time, Bruce.6. Best feature: You’re a really good dad. Also, you give very comforting hugs.7. Have I ever had a crush on you: Hell no, you’re one of my dad’s friends. Not that that hasn’t stopped me before but we have a very different relationship from that.8. You’re my: Very dear friend, but you feel like family.9. Name in my phone: Dr. B. I get that I can call you Bruce now, but I just never saw a reason to update your name in my phone.

Time To Start Over New [Drabble]
December 31st 11:50PM Times Square, New York City
Today was New Years Eve, and Times Square was positively flooded with maybe 30% of New York and 70% of every other American and tourist alike. All of which had splurged for limos and expensive champagne while making promises for a new start to the new year.
A new year, Tony thought, something that made people want to change though they never seemed to. Or... At least they would for the first few weeks of January only to go back on their resolutions two weeks later. This time however, things had already drastically changed for him and the other Avengers.
That Christmas morning the whole team had awaken to not the usual Christmas cheer, but to notes left on their pillows. Something had happened, a mission she said, to take the infamous Natasha Romanov far from Stark Tower without a word of where she was going. She even took the time to make a video message just as elusive. Unfortunately for them it raised more questions then it answered. This seemed to really bug every one else. Tony on the other hand didn't say a thing and left for his room without even laying a finger on one of the many colorfully wrapped packages.
Ever since then the whole team sort of drifted apart. Where they went, no one really knew. Not that any of it mattered. At least now the billionaire could leave for extended periods of time without anyone finding out he was secretly taking on Nat's line of work.
Speaking of work...
This guy was pretty damn quick for a man of mid thirties. Nimble too, practically bounded down the hall like a gazelle. If it weren't for a teensy misstep Tony would've been cleaning up the mess by now. Normally this wouldn't have happened. Okay it might have happened when he was Iron Man, but then he was in a metal armory. This time all he had was a leather vest with a high collar and some tight pants. Not to mention two pistols and a handful of throwing daggers. Still, how could he possibly make such a beginner's mistake?
What's worse was that his target was armed. Not with heavy weaponry or anything traditional for that matter, but a small fukiya (glorified spit wad shooter) hidden up his sleeve so just when Tony was about to fire off a shot in the back of his head he could turn the tables on him. He didn't even see it coming until the small dart was buried half way into his cornea, and the target half way to freedom.
"Fuck!" Tony swore as his knees hit the ground, chrome golden eagle clattering to the floor next to him.
Something wasn't quite right. You'd think a dart wouldn't hurt this much. Hell it didn't just hurt, it burned.
He sat himself up, one hand to his bloodied eye before saying, "Jarvis? I need some help... A-sap."
His left ear buzzed before ringing with a polite British sort of voice. "Yes, sir." Jarvis replied calm as ever. "An ambulance should be on it's way shortly."
While he waited he moved himself to a near by wall and rested his weight against it before looking out the window with his one good eye. Outside the crowd was shouting in unison, "5! 4! 3!" and in those last seconds he counted quietly to himself, all of the past year filling his mind in the form of flashbacks.
"1!"
"Happy fucking new year..."
May 1st Alice Springs Hospital, Australia
Tony cursed and bit his lip when he realized his next 'job' was taking place in a hospital. Just five months ago he lost his eye to a poison dart. Luckily his genius engineering forged him a new, completely robotic, replacement. It was nothing out of a sci fi movie either, to everyone else it looked as though he had never lost the first one to begin with.
Anyways apparently a Jenifer Finning had gotten into a bit of a scrape with another assassin not too long before. Only reason she escaped alive was because her daddy had taught her some lessons of his own. Something having to do with them 'freeing the world from sin'. A bunch of religious bull crap if you asked Tony.
Unfortunately for poor Jenny her father was easily done away with, and didn't think put her under some top secret care before leaving. All he had to do was borrow some clothes (that weren't drenched in blood), dye his hair, and snatch the ID off him. Now he was practically the spitting image of Jacob Finning himself complete with grey hair, and faded green eyes.
"Ah yes, Jacob Finning." The man at the front desk confirmed ignorantly, "Your daughter is just down the hall, fifth room on the right."
Tony smiled warmly and replied, "Thank you so much, sir." then moved down the hall towards his 'daughter's' room. There she lay bandaged and fixed up, it almost seemed cruel to finish her just as she was getting better. Guess that's business for you.
He stepped in quietly and closed the door behind him before shedding his light coat. "Jenifer..." The tone of voice he chose was quiet, almost threatening. From what he could tell the guy wasn't the the world's best father.
"Dad," she sat up. "I'm so sorry. I had him, i swear! B-but that damn knife. He had it hidden on him, just in his sleeve-"
Putting his hand up he silenced her immediately. "Enough.. You will find forgiveness in His hands soon."
Jenifer froze. "Dad?"
The young girl, maybe 15, scrambled back in her bed when Tony left the comfort of his chair and was heading straight towards her. The whole time she looked at him with the expression of pure terror, something that wasn't too uncommon for him by now. The closer he got to her the more she seemed to realize what was going to happen, and that he wasn't her father, but by the time it had completely registered his hands were already tight around her small neck.
This was the first time he had ever choked someone to death. To actually watch as the life was slowly fading from someone's eyes was surreal, but he continued putting pressure down on her esophagus until her lungs had nothing left. Her last words seemed to vibrate in his ears as his hands left, brushing past curly red hair.
Something about this girl made him shake. When he was killing her he didn't go blank like he usually would. It was almost as if something about her had gotten to him. Leaving the hospital room was even more... Weird. So weird in fact everything around him had seemed to stop.
The only time Tony remembered where he was was when he bumped into a doctor leaving another room nearby.
"I'm terribly sorry." He mumbled and continued on his way, but not before stopping to look into one room where a woman was crying in the shoulder of another, slightly older, woman. She was so... Familiar.
Before he let himself think too much he choked a smile and continued on his way. "Could've been anyone..."
OOC:
I know this is uncharacteristically early for me, but I have work in the morning and I'm tired. So I'm headed off for the night, but I'll be back tomorrow after work! If I owe you and don't have you tagged on here then like this, have a good night all!
Also my ask box is always open for plotting purposes.
Coming Home// Open to those tagged
Two years later, December 26th
It all looked the same, exactly the same. It was like she had never left and yet two years had passed since she had walked out that early morning and didn’t look back. The cabbie keeps looking at her from the rearview mirror wondering if she’s ever going to get out and pay him. It’s been five minutes.
“Mama?”
A small hand tugged at her shirt and Natasha looked down smiling at the small two and a half year old settled on the seat next to her, “I know.” There’s excitement in those blue eyes that stare at her then look out the window and back again. With a sigh, the Black Widow, now a Mother pays the cabbie, apologizes and gets out of the car, hoisting up the child with red curls that match her own and looks up at the tower. Suddenly it seems much taller than it had been.
“What if…” Nora gets caught up a moment looking up at the tower, it has her Uncle Tony’s last name on it, but she hasn’t even met him yet, “if no like?”
Sighing, Natasha kisses the girl’s soft cheek, “They will malenkaya (little one) it’s your Mama they’re not going to like right now.” And maybe not ever again, but she wasn’t going to tell her child that. The inquisitive little creature was already aware of her Mother’s nerves; she was proving to be far more like Loki than Thor in that way. However Nora was most assuredly her Father’s daughter. She wasn’t even remotely frightened by thunder storms as most children are, but that wasn’t even the most telling thing. The most telling was the crystal clear blue eyes that right now were torn between looking at Natasha and the large building they were about to walk into.
Natasha herself had barely changed her hips were a little fuller, but not much as she had been shapely to begin with. She still didn’t look a day over thirty if that, though her hair now swept closer to her shoulders but it was still that same red that was shared by her daughter, “Well kid, here goes nothing.” She put on a brave face, smiled and began to head into the lobby. A few people glanced her way, some for longer than necessary, but as before she paid them little mind, but Nora did.
“Staring is rood.” And even stuck her tongue out at a few of the people they passed by.
“Nora Romanoff.” Natasha scolded the child lightly, “That. Is also rude.” Finally they made it to the elevator and she let the child down, “I have no idea who is even here right now.” She almost hopes no one is as the ride up seems over sooner than it should be and she steps out taking the girl’s hand and moves down the hall towards the living room, common area and steps inside looking around while Nora clings to her pant leg with one small hand, the other playing with the locket around her little neck.
