Friends were the best. Really, when it came down to it, Nadia Pym had decided that without friends her life would be significantly worse. Things were, admittedly, bad. Her father had died and her step-mother and half sister had gone too. Getting out of the Red Room was supposed to have made things better ( and it had ) but the holes where Nadia had pictured life were all too prominent. She had worked tirelessly to fill them, using new connections to build new ties and new families to help her float through even if they couldn’t replace what was lost.
The box of Hank Pym’s belongings that Nadia had found had taken up a great deal of time. She had combed through all of the research multiple times but it still felt like there were things she was missing. Factoring in the additional boxes from the also deceased Earth-616 version of your father had made it all the more overwhelming and if Nadia wasn’t on a mission with the Champions she was sequestered in the G.I.R.L. Labs with her friends to see what they could crack.
Making a Vision hadn’t been the initial goal. Nadia had been interested by what Henry Pym had about synthetic life but the Vision most knew had just died. Tony wasn’t exactly around to give his blessings on a Vision 2.0 but after it seemed like it would be somewhat well received Nadia had gone for it, enlisting her fellow researchers to see what they could do. For all intents and purposes the Vision was up, running and seemingly fine. He wasn’t the same as the one who had passed but it was progress.
Scooping a rather large portion of noodles into her mouth, Nadia shook the nearly empty container of Chinese food at Amadeus across from the lab. The Vision blueprints were tacked up on the wall, notes and suggestions littering the boards. Modifications were complicated when altering the original design, but they had to be possible.
“Any luck? I think I’m seeing triple, and I’m out of Lo Mein.”
