reaching into her satchel, nadia pulled out a bandaid and carefully unpeeled it. it was yellow with sunflowers; one in the best in the pack, in her personal opinion. “hand.” she held out her palm for him to place his hand into. nadia focused on wrapping it around the finger after. “it’s okay if it is normal if you are prepared.”

“amka is furious. she has a lot of right to be, historically. she’s been out protesting and raising awareness, but it’s putting us under fire.”

It was honestly really impressive, and Daisy could just imagine the two going on to each other about quantum physics or something if they were to ever be put into the same room. “You’re kind of speaking a whole other language to me, but that sounds cool. It’s really nice of you to help me out with this.”

“i love to help.” nadia hummed. “it’s actually one of my favorite things to do. i love helping, especially when it really works out for someone else. i’ll do my best to translate. basically, the gauntlets aren’t as efficient as they could be. there’s too many open channels for your energy to flow through. if we tighten that up, they’ll hit harder and with less effort.”

There was definitely some sinister stuff going on in there and Cindy was just glad some of her friends came out alright. She’d been worried about Nadia. “I’m sorry I couldn’t check in sooner.. Pleasant Hill kept me busy. I’m really glad you’re alright, though.”

“right.” nadia was solemn. “lana’s doing better, actually, snowguard is still angry and i don’t blame her; i just don’t really function that way. i’m more glass half full optimist.” it got her through. throughout the course of her life, nadia had needed optimism to rely on to make it by, “oh, no, you’re fine. everyone has been busy. i don’t think we blame anyone. we all need grace.”

“Maybe. But I think I beat you out in the irresponsible category. You were just trying to be a good friend. And I really appreciate it.” Cassie smiled softly at Nadia, genuinely meaning that. Nadia keeping that secret meant the world to her and she wasn’t sure what would have happened had the other girl not stepped in and helped out. “Without you I’d probably be phasing in and out of having physical matter, so thank you. Seriously, I don’t think I’ll ever be able to repay you. I’m sorry for getting you involved in the first place, though.” She grimaced at the description of the center and shook her head. “I’m really glad you’re okay, at least. Lana Baumgartner came out sounding like she was brainwashed.”

“i think you did too.” nadia nodded. “but that does not mean that i don’t regret it.” her intense desire to please people made it hard to say no. “hank would never have let that happen after the ava situation. we know more about quantum entanglement now. but really, it’s okay. you’re forgiven. i don’t like to hold onto things. it makes you heavy.” she wiggled as if she was trying to shake off some weight. “oh, bombshell was definitely brainwashed. they’re working on that. snowguard is incredibly upset for good reason as well.”
