Did I here someone want a Gamzee/Aradia fic about my headcannons?
No?
Okay, cool.
They had never spoken before the game.
She knew his name, and he knew hers; but there had never been any interaction.
He knew she loved digging and flarping and her face had a thousand expressions that Tavros all thought were silly.
She knew he loved Faygo and pies sitting around at the beach.
She’d never been to a beach.
He’d never really dug too much.
Tavros tells him how broken she is. He tells him about what happened with Vriska, and how she wasn’t the same.
For some reason, he wishes he could have seen all her expressions before Vriska took them away. According to Tavbro, she had a pretty smile.
She and Tavros stop talking. Everyone stops talking to her except Sollux. The way she’s changed just makes him pity her more; and god, she doesn’t know if she’ll ever pity anyone as much as she pities Sollux in the seconds before she died.
Then she’s dead and she doesn’t feel anything.
And it’s like that for perigrees until his pity hardens into regret and they fall out of moiralagence into something else and she wishes she was heartbroken, but he’s heartbroken enough for the both of them.
Soon they’re in the game. Equius gave her a poisonous body; but a body nonetheless.
She had emotions again. And she was so angry.
There was no time for meeting old and new friends, no time for old relationships; there was just rage.
For a while fury and revenge was all she could think of.
All the while, all he could think of was how long it would be until they ran out of Faygo and a little thankfulness about how many of them had survived.
And then she reached God Tier
And he went mad.
She had forgotten what love was like. She had forgotten rust blood in her veins, and flesh on her fingers and she had forgotten what it felt like to smile.
He forgot what it was like to pity. He forgot friendships, and compassion. He forgot everything that wasn’t rage and hemospectrum. He let it flow, through his fingers into their stopped hearts.
Eventually she learned to curb her enthusiasm.
Eventually Karkat helped him curb his hatred.
Someday, someday not long after they first met flesh to flesh she saw him in a dream bubble.
“Hello!” Aradia said, the first words she’d ever spoken to him.
“Sup, sis?” Gamzee replies, a slow smile working his way on to his face.
“I just wondered if you wanted to die.”
She says it like it’s the type of thing a normal girl asks a normal boy.
But he wasn’t a normal boy. And she was a goddess.
“Hell fucking yes, my wicked sister.”
He says it like it’s a thing normal boys want to do.
But he doesn’t want to be a normal boy.
He wants the powers and the knowledge and the acceptance she could give him. He wants to be a god.
She grins and grabs his hands in hers, and drags him after her.
“I’ll kill you, then.”
