Even though they don't have a personal connection, Ganishka is a dark mirror of Guts:

-Both had difficult childhoods and were raised by parental figures who ended up betraying them and both killed said parental figures. Both had also significant others and sons whom they lost and oppose the God Hand. Also, they have their own "Beasts of Darkness" inhabiting their minds.

-Ganishka was born in wealth as the eldest son of Kushan's Emperor and intentionally murdered his entire family and sacrificed his son to become an Apostle, embarking himself in a campaign of atrocities and tyranny, defying the God Hand solely to become the new ruler. Ganishka didn't care about his wife, but he did for his son.

-Guts was born from the corpse of a hanged woman and inadvertently murdered Gambino and despite his tribulations, he still clings to his humanity and cares about Casca and their son, despite their child being corrupted by Griffith's essence. Guts defied the God Hand because of revenge and because it's the right thing to do.
