What soundfont do you use when you record the MIDIs?
I use a lot! I tend to download every GM soundfont I come across.
My current favorites are:
32MbGMStereo.sf2
Arachno SoundFont - Version 1.0.sf2
Nokia_30.sf2
OPL3.SF2
Scc1t2.sf2
YAMAHA S-YXG50_0.2.1.2.sf2 (I can’t find where this came from...)
27mg_Symphony_Hall_Bank.SF2 (original website got taken down I guess but there’s lots of places you can find it if you Google it)
I also like adlmidi and fmmidi which aren’t soundfonts but are soundcard emulators built into Foobar2000′s MIDI decoder! - @wilbr
