🔴Dolmen du Monts Grantez🔴 . ⚫located in the parish of Saint-Ouen on the Channel Island of Jersey. ⚫Jersey has a large number of Neolithic dolmen and passage graves, many of which are free to access. ⚫This Neolithic passage grave was built around 6,000 years ago (c. 4000-3250 BC) and consists of a passage leading into a chamber with a single side room. ⚫A mound was covering the structure prior to excavations in 1912. ⚫Seven skeletons (six adults and a child) were found in the chamber, all were in a squatting position, lying on their sides. ⚫An eighth skeleton was buried in a seated position, supported by stones, in the passage, and the scattered remains of a ninth individual were discovered in the side chamber. ⚫The skeletons were accompanied by bones of cattle, deer, horse, pig and goat. ⚫Other finds include a variety of pottery vessels, coloured pebbles, shells, ceramic shards, lithic objects (hammer and flint objects, spindle for wool) and a soapstone pearl. . .
