this is really niche but early 2000s magazine ads are lost media. they deserve to be, they’re not important, tbh, but I used to read magazines constantly and have so many memories of them. There is a Gap Kids ad that features a product called “action cargos” where there were three different boys all styled wearing Action Cargo pants with captions like “Jamie always listens to reggae, never to his big brother, he wears his Action Cargos with a sweatshirt”.
I’ve been googling for this ad for years. I don’t know why the action cargos were different from regular cargo pants but maybe I wanted them and couldn’t buy them or maybe I just wanted to draw the kids in the ad for character design because of the way the cargos were styled, but if ANYONE remembers this advertisement, or knows a website that for some reason archives old gap ads, please let me know!
