This month's readers:
JASON FISK is a husband to one, a father of two (soon to be three), and a teacher to many. He lives and teaches in the suburbs of Chicago. He is the author of Sadly Beautiful, published by Leaf Garden Press; Hank and Jules, of a collection of short stories published by Kill the Middleman Press; Salt Creek Anthology, a collection of micro-fiction published by Chicago Center for Literature and Photography; the fierce crackle of fragile wings, a collection of poetry published by Six Gallery Press; as well as two poetry chapbooks - The Sagging: Spirits and Skin, and Decay
KYLE CHANEY grew up in the northwest suburbs and now lives in Chicago, studied at Columbia College in the fiction writing department. His time spent living in the suburbs, as well as his willingness to accept any job offer (any), have greatly influenced his novel in progress, tentatively titled Scammers. He enjoys hip-hop and cereal but doesn't so much prefer writing about himself in the third person.
COURTNEY WATTERS is a graduate of Grand Valley State University’s Fiction Writing department. She is a newcomer to Chicago and is using the city’s creative winds to fuel her writing and complete the revision of her movie screenplay “Drink From the River”. Courtney has a background in screenwriting, playwriting, and can still sing like a songbird from her time as a lead singer to a rock and roll cover band
ROSAMUND LANIN - The product of nine years in San Francisco and eight years in St. Paul, Rosamund Lannin is pleasantly surprised to have lived in Chicago for over a decade. During that time, she has been an editor and contributor for Gapers Block, and performed stories around the city. By day she does something with computers, by night she co-hosts lady live lit show Miss Spoken, edits Story Club Magazine, and tries to write essays that make you feel things, or at the very least laugh.
Sounds like you’ve hit the literary lottery this month. RUI features readings of original short stories plus short-short excerpts of published work related to a theme of the month. This month's theme is "Winning"
