She wouldn't have thought she'd ever be doing this; reaching out to the feds for help. But she needed to, before things got worse. Our of their crew of six, they already lost two. They had a pattern to them, and she knew it. But no one else seemed to have noticed. But she wasn't going to make it blatantly obvious that she was the one doing it either.
Hacking into a back door wasn't hard, but whoever had done it had skills that were on par with hers. The style seemed familiar, but she couldn't put her finger on it. Either way, once she was in, Penelope knew she only had a few minutes before whoever was on the other end would catch on to her and back trace to find her IP address, which would lead to her physical address, and that wouldn't do.
[CMXCVIII: tip from hacker to hacker, two down, there's only four of us left.]
She felt really weird doing this, but being terrified was a good justification for it.
