Lord Blackbird, monitoring his realm ….
Blackbird, Amsel, Schwarzdrossel
A tiny neighbor.
Right next to the front door of my home is a full grown white Hibiscus. The closest branch to my door is about 5 feet away and houses this little lady and her upcoming family. The nest is typically a small sake cup sized bowl, however in this case it is actually 2 nests instead of one. I do not know if it is the same mother from the previous year or if it is one of the offspring. The original nest which is on the bottom was pretty beat up so the little lady built a new nest on top the old one. The nest is located just under the eve of my house so it doesn't get rained on. I have seen this particular nest get used for 3 years in a row and have been lucky enough to watch the chicks develop. I hope as there won't be any issues with the eggs and look forward to seeing chicks. I greatly look forward to taking many photos throughout their development.
All of my photos of her and her family are taken from the inside of my home to where I am not disturbing her in any way shape or form.

Hummingbird haven I have about 3-4 hummingbird nests throughout my property. This little one is near my front door but thankfully not too close where my comings and goings scare her. This one is closest to the ground while the rest are up high. I'm really hoping the weather permits thisbyear cause last year we had a major heat wave that killed the eggs. So if all goes well I can photogragh the development of the chicks when they hatch. :D Before anyone asks I'm using a Cannon Powershot SX420 so I can stand at a safe distance to photograph the nest. I never go near the nests at all.
I can't wait to see what you write for Leona. He's always been a "begrudgingly" favorite to me personally. I can't seem to get over the lion!
I adored your Ruggie and Lilia works so far and look forward to more of your AU. I myself was disappointed with the "college" title.
Here's to many ideas, quick edits and amazing followers for your blog!
-🦊 anon (if that's alright)
ahhhh, welcome to the blog fox anon!! 🦊 much love to you for being my first regular anon on tumblr and also my first ask on this blog! your sweet words are very much appreciated :')
i'm excited to write about leona in the future, but honestly i have no idea what i'd even include him in other than the posts i make that include all the students. he's just so... !!!!! y'know? i hate him. he's such a bully. he's so mean and sarcastic and bitter and an ass. i also love him so much and want to kiss him stupid. looking at him makes my brain do an enemies-to-lovers speedrun. it's bad. the brainworms are terminal and the only way to soothe me in my final hours is by letting me hold hands with the big mean lion
i appreciate the love on the ruggie and lilia pieces too!! i've been intending on releasing a piece building up the college au a bit more, but little pieces like those interspersed with everything helps me avoid writing paralysis and feeling like i should post "properly" somehow. both of them came from bouts of inspiration that snuck up on me. creativity is a fickle thing!!
the college au... sigh. i can't even describe how ANNOYED i was realizing that night raven "college" is probably not the best name for the academy? i didn't even learn about the character's canon ages until like book 2 or 3, and that's because i looked it up on my own. i thought i had found a game in a genuine college setting but i was duped!! how disappointing. but fiction is fiction and characters are tools, so i'm going to use them to tell the story i want to tell, and that's night raven college as a more traditional college setting. i hope if you stumble across this blog that you're also of this same mindset and are excited to see where this journey goes!!
thank you 🦊 anon for giving the blog some love <3 best of wishes to you and thank you so much for reading!! xoxo
It’s a baby~
I can’t tell if there is one or two yet, typically there are two. But I was surprised that they hatched already. Though to give the nest size some perspective the Hisiscus leaves are about 3 ½ - 4 inches long.

Bad photo thru the sliding door so I didn’t bother her while she was eating but I had to show off our dinner guest.
How the hell did this little guy get up into my hanging basket? Maybe he hitched a ride on a bird?
