Maybe a short IvlisxSal unlikely friendship platonic fluff where they meet and eventually open up to each other, if you want?
Ivlis always had a certain…fondness for the sea. Perhaps because he knew that he would be left alone by Satanick if he went there. It had been a very hard day that day and he wanted to listen to the waves crash, he wanted to feel the spray on his face, get some salt in his hair. It was always…enjoyable. He found a small rocky…island? He supposed you could call it that. He sat down and closed his eyes, the noises almost actually putting him to sleep. Then he heard someone walking up behind him. He jumped up, pointing his spear at the noise, staring hard at the…albino? “Who are you?”
“Easy there, My name is Sal!” Sal smiled widely, trying his best not to get impaled by this devil. “You’re in the territory of my queen’s kingdom and I was just coming up here to make sure you weren’t planning any type of attack.”
“I….oh, no…I….simply just like the sound of the waves.” Ivlis cleared his throat softly, letting the light spear blink out. Sal took a step closer, still making sure he wasn’t offending him.
“Ah yes, the waves are rather lovely I suppose, to those who don’t hear them often…what would be your name?”
“Ivlis.” Sal moved closer and the two sat down next to one another.Â
“You seem to have a lot on your mind, Ivlis.”
“You…would be correct.” Ivlis let out a small sigh. “There was….a lot of….arguments today, with my children, with my people…I was…rather overwhelmed and I tend to come here when I get overwhelmed like that.”
“Ah…I suppose I don’t get it completely…but I tend to handle any talking for my queen…she…isn’t much of a talker.” Sal chuckled softly at his own joke. “But you’re free to come here any time you need to relax, as long as you aren’t here to harm us.”
“No….no I…put those days behind me. What about yourself, Sal? You seemed troubled as well.” Sal was caught off guard slightly, surprised someone could see through his false smile.
“…I suppose I…am. There is…a woman I love, very much. However the feelings aren’t exactly mutual. And…if I were to continue loving her…it would…change her. It would change her too much.” Sal’s smile faded as he stared out at the water. “I’m….conflicted.” Ivlis was silent for a time before gently resting a hand on Sal’s.
“It’s…hard loving someone like that. It will rip apart your very soul…because you know the best thing to do in that situation is…to stop loving them. It takes time, and you will hurt…but in the end you will be better for it.” Sal stared at Ivlis, listened to his words. He spoke with such an old wisdom, it comforted him.
“You’re….right….” Sal was silent for a time as the two simply sat, enjoying each other’s company. “Perhaps…we can do this again?”
“I would love that, Sal.”
