as much as she regretted it, dawon just hadn’t talked to jihyun as much as she would have liked. the older was someone that she had looked up to throughout the entirety of royal survival, yet it seemed that she’d allowed that admiration to shift into something that more or less resembled intimidation, and before long she had become almost afraid to approach jihyun. but she still looked up to her, and they had shared a few conversations every now and then—but dawon still knew that she could do better.
one night, after practice, dawon sought the older girl out, approaching her when it seemed that she wasn’t particularly busy. there was a mild nervousness building within her, which, when she took the time to think about it, seemed almost laughable. was she actually nervous to approach one of her future group mates for something other than training? and their leader, at that? “hey, jihyun,” she began, despite knowing what she was going to say next. “i, uh, well... hi.” damn it. “i guess i was just, i don’t know, kind of wondering if you wanted to hang out and talk? or something? unless you’re busy! i totally get it if you’re busy, no problem,” she finally finished, not knowing if it was possible to embarrass herself further.
