For Kotone, a bouquet of bright pink and white carnations, bound at the stems with purple ribbon. With it, a black candle with white speckles that smells of lemon and lavender. The enchanted wick is unique and experimental: when lit, the silver smoke forms glittering constellations in the air. These constellations can be shaped and reshaped at a wave of Kotone's hand. A note tucked into the bouquet's ribbon reads, "hope your valentine's day is a bright one!"

[When Kotone gets back to the dorm after school, she ends up finding this sitting on her desk. First things first, she goes over to Yukari’s room to see if she has an extra vase for her to put the flowers in. Yukari ends up doing her one better and helps her set them up in the most aesthetically pleasing spot in her room, in a vase that complements their color scheme.

Getting their hands on a lighter to try out the candle is a bit more challenging. Technically they’re not supposed to light candles in the dorm—fire hazard and whatnot—but it turns out one of the first years has an illicit lighter on her that she’s willing to donate to the cause.

By the end of the evening there’s a small crowd gathered in Kotone’s room, shouting out suggestions for constellations and just generally being enthralled by the (quite literally) magic smoke from this seemingly innocuous candle.

Get that a lot, actually should probably incorporate that into an intro BUT! I work for the country and sometimes foreign countries and companies in developing support gear for heroes or people with quirks, as well as UA in repairing their machinery! BUT
