Love Languages are fascinating. While I’ve known I have a “Praise Kink” for most of my adult life, it still translates to everyday “couple stuff”. I live with my partner and he takes care of most of the household and income while I finish a second degree.
His encouragement of my pursuing education and switching career paths and his constant support mean the world to me. While his main love language seems to be touching, his praise and encouragement sustain my mental health. Every “good job”, every conversation about my graduate projects, every time he listens to my explanations about landscape design choices is another bit of fuel to keep me going until I get my certification and diploma.
I can’t wait until graduation day. I’ll be in a cap and gown again, and this time I’ll actually be proud of my achievements. I can’t wait to hear him cheering.
I am able to serve him by buying the groceries and cooking. Making sure he has plenty of hearty, filling meals is incredibly rewarding, especially since he gets so wrapped up in cares that he will quite literally forget to eat.
