Excerpt: "Rough trip?" Gil asked, looking up with concern as Marlon opened the door with more force than he'd intended, the strong wind of the storm blowing the handle out of his hand.

"What makes you think that?" Marlon asked as he wrestled the door closed, sliding the lock into place for good measure.

"Aside from your grand entrance?" Gil replied, wincing with pain as he stood and crossed the room. "Hmm…" he took Marlon's bag from him and walked toward the stairs leading to the small apartment they shared above the shop. "Maybe the fact that you weren't supposed to come back until tomorrow night."

I'll admit, I struggled with this prompt for Noah and Sam, but I'm happy with how it turned out! (Also thank you for asking about my OC!)

Laughing together late into the night, long after daylight has faded and the chickens are asleep,

I can't help but feel like this is the way things are supposed to be. The day's struggles

Hair out of my eyes. I do the same with his, leaning in for a kiss. Maybe not

Tonight, but soon, I will find the courage to ask my question. I will ask Sam to share his light with mine, forever.

"The coast is clear," Marlon calls out once Sam and Sebastian are out of ear shot. He feels a little bad he interrupted their evening, but the look they shared as they left makes it clear their night is far from over.

"Remember when we were that young and in love?" Gil asks, rounding the corner of the Spa, a wistful smile on his face.

"No," Marlon laughs. "Not being that young, anyways." He holds the door open for his husband, locking it once they're both inside. "I'm still that in love, though."

Gil's only answer is a satisfied kiss.
