So I know this is super late and we’ve all moved on, but I didn’t have tumblr blog when Garnet’s wedding happened so we’re gonna talk about this now.
So as we all know, Sapphire wore a suit and Ruby wore a dress, and it was adorable, as well as subverting some expectations.
AND. It makes sense for their characters too.
Think about it. Sapphire is ALWAYS in a dress. Ruby has ALWAYS worn that little uniform thingy idk what to call it.
OF COURSE Sapphire would see a suit as suitable (pun) formal wear. Why would she wear her everyday style to her own wedding? The same holds true for Ruby. Everyday clothes are not for weddings, especially one thousands of years in the making.
We see this type of thing with Pearl too, in the Empire City episode. Her form usually has feminine touches, with tulle, ballet slippers, and leggings. So when she stays at a swanky hotel, she wears a suit along with Greg and Steven.
No doubt someone has already pointed this out somewhere, but folks I just had to get my thoughts out there
